Wow wow and WOW, you have managed to find out so much in a few hours and I have struggled for several months and found very little. Thank you all.

William Corbett I found his date of birth alongside his date of which was April 1991 in Newport Wales. It listed his DOB as 15th Jan 1920. Could this date be incorrect as if it was him that married  Kathleen Monahan in 1934  he would have been 14 yrs old! Would this marriage still fit or will it be an incorrect year of birth noted at the time of his death?

I have always believed that there were two children from this marriage Margaret (Peggy) and Jane, which could well have been know as Jean. There was never any mention of a boy from this marriage. I understood that their mother died young and that they were put into care and that William Corbetts second wife Mary Farrington ‘rescued them from care’ and raised them as her own. This was information received from Peggy. I was also told that there were three children from this marriage between William and Mary and that only one child survives and he was born June 1950. I have spoken to him about any more information and he says he can’t remember or it could be he chooses not to divulge the information.

It was common family knowledge that William was a womaniser and he had three wives in total but it is unclear whether he had any children from a third union. I know he lived his late years until his death in Bettws Newport with Margaret and her husband John J Heffernan until his death in 1991. Both Margaret and John are deceased and I have tried to obtain further information from their one remaining child but again he is very reluctant to divulge the information. Due to an issue with another family member trying to commit fraud against his late parents estate. I am unable to find birth dates of either but I believe that Margaret and her sister Jane/Jean were both born in Limerick.

Margaret and John married in Birmingham in 1960 and spent the majority of their married life in Newport. They had three children a girl who died shortly after birth and two boys one of which died in 1999.

As regards to Williams parent I have no further information as I am also unsure of Williams place of Birth it could be Ireland Wales or even the Birmingham area.

As regards to Mary Farrington’s parents yes it is Mary Daly and Phillip Farrington and yes that is the marriage record that I have found. I have been unable to locate any further information on them. I have found 10 of what I believe to be 14 children in total that they have had and I can name most of them as they are deceased. I also have named most of their spouses and found references to marriages. I know most that moved to Birmingham and are buried in Witton Cemetery. All were born in Dublin area and moved to Birmingham or stayed within the Dublin area, mainly around the Finglas area or Tallaght.
My Father has also mentioned a Bernadette but is unsure how she fits into the family is she is a child of Mary and Phillip or a grand child.
My Grandmother Margaret Farrington had a daughter out of wedlock that was raised as her sister I have not been able to locate her birth registration she as far as I am aware is still living. (I have no contact with this section of the family).
Then there was Dereck Holmes who was born June 1949 and died 1961 then there are another male and two daughters from this marriage to a George Holmes (deceased). I know little else about him as the marriage broke down and he moved to the Yorkshire area as we were led to believe. ? If he married again or had any other children. There was another marriage between Margaret Farrington/Holmes and a Christopher Glenny and 2 daughters from this union one died 2010. I have most of this current information and dates

It is very amusing that Phillip Farrington spent time in prison for larceny, drunken disorderly and profane language. It was probably not appropriate at the time and quite shameful but I guess he did what he thought was needed at the time.

I have to go and put all of this information now into my tree and see what else I can find. If there is any other information that you lovely people are willing to continue to search that that would be fantastic. I really appreciate all the help that you have so far given, and would appreciate any further help you are willing to give would be muchly appreciated.
Thanks again
Anna.

Dublin / May/Mary Farrington/Corbett

Im after any information that people can find for me relating to Mary Farrington. A family member has her birth as the 14th June 1921 which I have found a record of. I have her parents as Phillip Farrington 1892-1993 and Mary Davis 1897-1971 both born in Dublin (My maternal Grand Parents). I have many siblings of this marriage and some of their marriages and children and grand children most of which are living in the Birmingham area.

They have her date of death as the 1st March 1969 in Finglas and that she is buried in Mulhuddert Cemetery. I can not find any records pertaining to this. I know that she had at least 2 children with a William Corbett once still alive (a Male).

She also raised two girls from a previous marriage/relationship of William Corbett as their mother allegedly died ? during child birth.

I have an address as kildonan drive in finglas west, dublin 11.

Any information greatly appreciated I have been trying to locate information on this side of the family for several months and am failing at every hurdle. This is my maternal side of the family and I haven't got back very far. Where as my paternal side I am back to 1690's with multiple limbs and very distant relations
Thank you Anna

I am after information from the Parish records and or gravestone if there is one for a family plot in St Davids Yeo Close Bettws.

The plot contains
William J Corbett who I believe dates are B 15th Jan 1920 D ? April 1991 (obtained from birth marriage death index)

David John Heffernan B 14th March 1965 D 12th June 1999 (I have a prayer card with dates on, as I attended funeral)
Margaret (Peggy) Heffernan B???? D July 2009 (St Davids News letter online)
John J Heffernan B?????    D 29th May 2011  (obtained from birth death marriage index)

Any other information that people are able to shed light onto this family would be a great help.

I know Peggy had a sister called ? Jean and that their mother died and Mary Farrington married William Corbett and raised them as her own children.

I know that William Corbett married three times but I am only able to fine one marriage record to a Mary Farrington. They had I believe three children but can only locate a Michael Corbett who was born in Dublin.

Any help in cracking this part of the Welsh/Irish family would be a great help.
Thanks in advance
Anna
