Hi

Im researching Herbert Russell Midlane Coombe for a distant relative. I'm not related. I have been trying to find some evidence for his death and perhaps get a death certificate. I cannot find him in the NSW BDM. I contacted Wentworth Shire Council and could not find a burial record for him either. They did find his wife and some children.

Hi

I'm from this family and if anyone has anymore info, feel free to PM me. My main interest is Peter and Rosanna, followed by Peter and Emma Elvin.

1892 seems to be missing. I had looked at Public Records but I have so much trouble figuring out what it means and where to look. :-[

Australia / Geelong gaol

Hi

I believe an ancestor of mine had a short spell in the Geelong Gaol. He was charged with vagrancy. I have not been able to find any documents related to this. I know he was there because I found newspaper articles. Are there records from 1892 Geelong Gaol available? If so how do I go about finding them?

No. I don't have any hand writing samples.

I didn't purchase the SA wedding cert, as there did not seem to be any information on it, from the "preview". I looked at what was on wedding certs of that era and they did not provide the details that later certificates did. Its 1868 before they put the father on and 1937 before they put the mothers maiden name on. His father is Peter Farrell and Lucinda for the mother, I'm not sure if that helps as far as finding out if he was transported. Birth place listed as Dublin on death cert and the certificate of freedom has Dublin too, which is why I'm thinking it could be him.

What I'm after is a way to find out if Peter Farrell, married to Rosanna McIvor, is the same person who arrived on the Clyde. His death cert has him in Australia for 41 years. I know that info on death certs is not always accurate, so that would have him arriving in Australia around 1831. The spelling of his name was corrected in other documents. Peter Farroll arriving on the Clyde is identified later as Peter Farrell. There is also discrepancy with his age.

The convict in question is Peter Farrell. Arrived on the "Clyde" 1832. I have found the convict info and certificate of freedom.
