The Lighter Side / Re: Tithe Records

Thanks, Alan and Claire

I have copies of many of the Court Rolls for Wimbish Manor I will have to go back the records Office to search for the earlier records.
I have attached one example some I have mentioned the fees being transferred. I have always thought that the land belonged to the Manor and the building to the occupant but I am not certain now.
The 1758 map of Wimbish shows a plot of land with a building on it.

Claire thanks for the download I had been told about that many years ago but I had no record of it.
The transcribed Tithe schedule I obtained from our local library had Cottage and Garden.

I am trying to search the history of our cottage that's why I mentioned that the annual rent was 8pence/year by ancient rights.

On the 1840 Tithe schedule for Wimbish in Essex, for our cottage and garden under the heading, Alias it has           cf, Tyehach 1381,ct[/b]       could someone please tell me what this means.
On the copyhold for our cottage and garden, it mentions that the annual rent was 8pence/year by ancient rights.

I was also wondering if the year 1381 when the ancient's rights were granted?

Thanks, Jon_ni and Comberton

Thats what I thought I was hoping there might be a bit more information especially about Nora Ferrarin as I cannot find any information about her. Stanley Jobson was 29 at the time of the wedding.

Have you tried contacting the many people who have Hilda Smith and Harry Gamble in their trees.

Thanks for the info and yes I should had inserted the link.

Are the baptism details for West Derby available on line. Nellie also had another child registered as Harold Sergeant in 1917. I would like to see if the fathers are mentioned.
