Thanks for responding to my request.  Yes, I have confirmed John's parents as Daniel Cameron and Margaret McIsaac through his birth registration.

The information provided by son Hugh on John's death registration about John's  father being named Donald is in error. I have found other information provided by Hugh as either incomplete or in error.

All -

Seeking to locate Margaret BAILLIE and her parents. I believe she was born circa 1821 (age at date of death in 1899 was 78 years of age) in or around Falkirk, Stirlingshire. Parents are unknown but she married John CAMERON 18 Dec 1840 in Falkirk. He was from Dunblane so I assume they were married in her home area. Per my research Margaret BAILLIE died 12 Feb 1899 in Falkirk. John and Margaret were the parents of 9 children all born in Falkirk between 1841 and 1858.

Thanks in advance for any assistance in leading me to my 2X great grandmother.

Hello Forfarian,

Yes, the 1881 Census Falkirk, Scotland has the CAMERON listing showing:

COLIN, age 11 - known as JOHN on immigration passenger list

CALLENDER, age 8 - known as Alexander (my Grandfather), on immigration passenger list.

Colin and EV,
Daniel and Mary Reoch/Reach are not mine.

New subject - Scottish Christmas Traditions - My Scottish greats and grand, who immigrated to Pennsylvania, died before I was born and those celebrations are unknown to me.  Anything you can pass on to me regarding these traditions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
SRT

Yes, I have found errors on several family trees, both  Ancestry and FamilySearch.  Discouraging.  Did not know the interchangeability of Donald/Daniel.  Speaking of which, is Colin interchangeable with John and Callender with Alexander?

ColC

You've been busy.  Didn't know about her immigration to US.  Shall check Ancestry.

Thank you and Merry Christmas, as we Yanks say...

Hello ev,

No, none of this information matches what I have.  I shall try FreeCEN.
