my grandfather was mickey as a boy but mike after marriage, his third son was also mickey til he got married, I got a row from his wife for calling him uncle mickey - his name is michael she scolded. ray nelson
 ps aunt kate  became mrs forsyth ,matt moved to kidwelly, mickey moved to Carmarthen, john joseph emigrated to the USA

Married 30 yrs, 10 children born, 7 living

His military records state his father was James Fitzpatrick, Mother Margaret,

Living whilst enlisting at 5 Evans Street.St Mary Parish,Kilkenny.

uncle matt is my grandfather's brother. His wife is Sue, his daughters Gladys and Nancy and probably sons as well, he lived in Mynydd y garreg Kidwelly and there are still family there eg my cousins (*)

re james Fitzpatrick. my great grandfather james Fitzpatrick married Margaret geary in the church of the assumption urlingford Kilkenny in about 1880, my grandfather michael francis  was born 1887. I know of two brothers - john and matthew and a sister Catherine. does this help.

james knox and anastatia lynch are my maternal grandmother's ( seanmhathair ) parents, they had 11 children, gran ( margaret mary)  was born in 1900 and emigrated to wales ( breatain bheag ) with her husband michael  francis fitzpatrick, they had 13 children, the oldest being my mother margaret mary nelson nee fitzpatrick, the fitzpatricks were Cilcheannigh, the knox family were  port lairge/ baile na phoill ( tobernabrone piltown) the oldest knox daughter mary has family in london, catherine has family in port talbot, margaret mary has family in llanelli and minnesota usa,  james patrick has family in cleethorpes and australia. stephen and  his brother john were killed in flanders just within a week of one another in november 1914 ?
