Thank you all for these - really quite remarkable. I think that Peter's is my favourite as it works well with the tones of the original. Arms crossed is definitely the thing. I will pass a copy on to Ernest's niece (in her 90s) who will be thrilled Thanks again Richard

Thanks for both of these - a massive improvement considering how badly damaged the original is!

I only have this scan of the original which I have tried to re-size - don't know if anyone can help?

Australia Lookups completed / Info on Margaret Kelly b Knockanare Limerick 1902
« on: Wednesday 26 May 21 21:44 BST (UK)  »
Hi

I am trying to find any information on a relative who moved to Australia in 1929/1930, believed to be SA or Victoria, but not certain. According to family lore she married and had at least 2 children. She was the daughter of Jeremiah Kelly and Bridget Horgan of Knockanare, but travelled to Australia as a single women and is believed to have married sometime before 1947. She reputedly briefly visited relatives Ireland in the 1940s but remained resident in Australia her whole life. Unfortunately Margaret Kelly is a common name! Church records show no middle name. Any identification of marriage or spouse greatly appreciated.

Warwickshire / Re: Reached Dead End with William & Mary Green Little Wolford

Thanks Annette

They are worth another look at. I had seen this marriage but not considered that the first born William might have died, which is an oversight considering the mortality rate! However the deceased William Green in 1784 Wolford burials is "an old man" according to the register, so not him. At first sight no obvious other deaths that might fit the picture.

Warwickshire / Reached Dead End with William & Mary Green Little Wolford

Hi folks. I seem to have reached a dead end in my family tree and wonder if there is anyone out there who can help.

I know that my Great Great Grandfather was Henry Green, who lived in Little Wolford but was born 1790 nearby in Stourton and Christened in Cherington. His parents according to baptismal records were William and Mary Green of "Stowerton". I originally believed that William Green was born in Little Wolford in 1762 to William and Mary, which would have connected me to a well documented family tree of Greens in Wolford.  However in the Wolford burial records it appears that this 1762 William died as an infant in August 1762, although this death did not appear in familysearch as the surname was not easy to decipher.

Further checking of burial records did reveal a William Green buried in 1824 in Little Wolford with a birth date (location unspecified) of 1753, and a Mary Green buried in 1827, born in 1759 (again no birth location). So this couple seem possible parents for Henry and his siblings in Cherington in the period from 1787 to 1803. However I can't seem to find a 1753 birth locally for a William Green, nor indeed a candidate marriage between a William Green and a Mary in the relevant period.

Before I call it a day does anyone have any suggestions for this couple that I may have missed.

Regards

Richard

Shropshire Lookup Requests / Re: 1851, 1861 and 1871 lookup - Henry Sandford

Hi

I know this is an old post, but just out of interest Thomas Sandford shown above b1839 also used the name Christopher for a son, though as a middle name. George Christopher Sandford b. Arscott 1883 was my Great Uncle.
