Thank you for your reply Ray.
That was over 4 years ago, and since then the person I was referring to has died, and her daughter who I was trying to help has become less enthused.  I hope you will therefore understand that resolving the matter is no longer high on my personal agenda.

Didn't want to ignore your request, but it looks as though hanes teulu already has the matter well in hand.   Regards Roy

If there is uncertainty over his father's name, and you have no knowledge of the names of siblings, How about looking at NEPTOWN near Henfield rather than Newtown?

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / Re: 65 Parliament Hill Hampstead

Thank you both for your responses and for doing a token look up.

Tibor Kaldor (said to be German but actually an Austro-Hungarian Jew) was my primary interest, for he was dispatched from 65 Parliament Hill to Australia aboard the Dunera (July 1940)

The voyage of that ship with its explosive mix of refugee Jews, Fascists, and German POWs as passengers is well documented, so I had hoped there was a Rootschatter that knew a little more about the building itself.  The stated ages professions of many of the residents do not immediately make me think of it as student accommodation, so I was hoping that someone else had relatives who took up temporary residence there, or actually knew whether the building itself could have once been used as a detention centre.

Tibor's brief life in Australia (suicide in 1948) is also well documented, but the Australian files about him and his past contain certain anomalies which I am trying to sort out for a relative.

London & Middlesex Lookup Requests / 65 Parliament Hill Hampstead
« on: Tuesday 27 April 21 21:17 BST (UK)  »
In 1939 a gentleman I am researching (who was unofficially classified as an undesirable alien and deported to Australia) resided at 65 Parliament Hill, Hampstead.  The majority of residents at that time may also have been classified as being a risk to the UK's security, so is there anyone who can tell me more about that building and the lives of those who were placed there?

Thanks Heywood

I'm not sure it helps either, but Richard Jones could be worth following up

Hi to all those who responded to this topic at some stage.

More recent further researches have resulted in a need to ask a few more questions.

I am trying to find out a little more about
(A) June Edith Jones who was a pre or postwar headmistress of a school in or near Wigan
(B) Who was living at 101 Miles Street, Liverpool in 1942.

Are any of you in a position to help?

Thanks

You have probably had no responses because you have given no idea of the extent of the translation you require.  If it is just a Birth, marriage or death registration, post a link and I'll give it a go.  But if an extensive text, I will do as others appear to have done, and back off.

Hello
There is a family tree for Miksa on Geni, which is a communal website.
Those that have contributed reseacrh to it are listed as
Zsuzsa Varró, Éva Berta Karádi, Emma Cole, Balázs Déri, Dinah Bar-On and me in a very minor way because Margit was missing and I have now added her for you.

The tree includes photos of Mlksa's parents, Miksa and Rezsin, and Jolan (as Jolan Vadas) and her husband Gyula Karádi (formerly Krausz).
Info on Jolan's 3 children is private as is info on a child of Miksa and Aranka.

One of the above contributors has stated that Miksa died in 1932, but they have included no references to verify it.  If it was the same person who submitted the family photos, their family knowledge may be more intimate and perhaps they could help you further.

Thats about all I can tell you
