Thank you. I get confused between sub-districts, townlands and parishes. Yes the William John and the John in my two messages are one and the same, my ggggrandfather. Yes he died in 1880 at Ballymaguigan. The Mary is his youngest child Mary Jane who's christening was listed at Bellaghy in 1868. Mary Jane went to Philadelphia and her mother, John's wife Jane (Madden) went to Philadelphia to live with Jane after John died in 1880.  Thank you for the hints.

Am sorry I forgot to say that John Marks died in 1880 and was protestant. I am just presuming he would abe buried around Ballymaguigan as that is the place of death on his death certificate and one of his younger children was married in Ballymaguigan. He married Jane Madden in the Presbyterian church in Castledawson and his eldest child was married there. His youngest child Mary Jane's birth was registered at Bellaghy in 1868. I gather all these places are quite close together. Don't quite know where to start.

Re  Irish Marks family. I am presuming that John Marks' church was the Presbyterian church in Castledawson as that is where he and Jane Madden were married and their first child( my GGGrandfather) Huston Marks was registered.I don't know if there is a Presbyterian church nearer to Bellaghy or Aughram both places John Marks had a connection to. Any help would be appreciated.

I am seeking help in trying to find children of William John Marks (known as John) married Jane Madden in Castledawson, Magherafelt in 1841. I have Huston born 1842 and Mary Jane born 1868 but none inbetween?? Also I have a death of a John Marks in 1880 that I think may be my John, do the death records held at GRONI have much information on them?
