Hi Wozzle
I've done that and got somewhere but can't find him anywhere on the 1881 via IGI. May have to go and do Ancestry UK to get it... or go on the microfiche at the library.
Thanks

Hi
Thanks I've finally got somewhere but if any of you can find her father Ralph Henry Harvey born c1873 in Stockton I would appreciate it. Have just spent about three hours looking for him but can't find anything at all.
He married Isabel Emmett c 1894 if that is of any help
Thanks

Hi there
You do realise that the Bacon family mainly came from Essex and would have migrated up here with enclosures and the infant industrial revolution. Have you looked round there to see if these people had either gone there or came from there. Particularly look round the Sturmer/Steeple Bumpstead area which is where most of them were. They intermarried with Keatons, Claydons (Smiths of Essex) and also were related to the Nunns. It's worth a look

Hi
Please would you look up a Hilda Harvey for me. She was born between September and December in 1906 in Stockton. Her father was a hair dresser in Stockton. Can't seem to get 1910 census on computer for some reason
Thanks

Thanks so much for that. I know from what Dad said about his mother that she had alot of the emotional characteristics of a romany. The loud mouth, cutting remarks, the wanderlust - which my dad picked up but I haven't. All the women in the hill line were tall i.e. over 5'2" I am considered tall for my family certainly for my mothers side who were no taller than 5'.... I am 5'4".

Thanks for all the info I will keep an eye on it and my lot were the lot censused in staveley. Originally from Old Hill.

Have a Happy Christmas  :)

Hi
Yes I'm looking at the Harrison/ Hill families. I've only got as far as my great great grandma Sarah Hill who married Benjamin Harrison and lived in Old Hill. I have a feeling and this has also been muted by someone else who I met at a Family History fair that either family or ancestors were part of the romany community at some point. It may not be Sarah or Benjamin or their parents but their grandparents. Do you have any other names for the Boswell connections please?
Thanks so much.
