Bridget Keogh died Jan 20 1964 aged 90 LINK

Thank you for that. It's a difficult one as not entirely sure if that would be her as I believe I found that Thomas had died in 1963.

Do you have Mary’s birth record. I couldn’t find that one.

That was a good point.  It was the only one I didn't have.  So after searching for last couple of hours I have finally found it! Looks as though it was registered in Tipp rather than Laois.

Back on the hunt for Richard Keogh & Bridget Costello marriage however.  I have found a Bridget under the Roscrea births around the right time but cannot be sure its her.  Will try locate Roscrea marriages as if Mary was born in that location - they most likely married there as mentioned before.

I have also noticed a pattern of names being Mary Bridget - so its possible she is down as Mary instead or Bridget - they like to make it confusing.

Hi all
Thanks for your help. They are the correct children. I have got the children's records. It's their own I cannot find any further back i.e. their parents or their marriage details.

Sorry I may have been mistaken exactly with mountmellick I meant to say Maryborough. You had the right census details

I'm wondering if anyone can helped me as have hit a brick wall.

I am trying to find the marriage / parents of my 2nd great grandparents Richard Keogh & Bridget Costello.

Richard Keogh
BIRTH ABT 1861 • Queens Co, Ireland
DEATH 15 OCT 1939 • Mountmellick, Laois, Ireland

Bridget Costello
BIRTH ABT 1866 • Co. Tipperary, Ireland (*according to 1901 census)
DEATH Unknown

Have them both listed on the 1901 (Keagh) and 1911 (Keough) census in Mountmellick, Laois.

Have the descendants of them but cannot find any marriage records for them - nor can I find the birth certs.  I have found a Bridget Costello B. 1869 in Mountmellick however cannot be sure its her.

First child Mary was born approx 1887.

I have also reviewed the NLI Parish Register but difficult to read so not sure if the entry is on there or not.

Thanks for any help you can give.

World War One / John Carmody - B.1871 - RGA 109th Coy Guernsey

Hi Military experts :)

I was wondering if anyone can help me make more sense of my gg. grandfathers military records.  I don't believe I am able to post it up as I got it from Ancestry and havent been able to find it anywhere else.

He was born in 1871 in Clare, Ireland (despite his record stating he was a few years younger).

Rank & Regimental Number: Gunner - 281020
Name: Carmody, John
Regiment or corps: RGA Regiment, 109th Coy Guernsey VRIC 5548

Stated on Attestation that he had previously served as RGA but cant read what it said after that.

It mentions his childrens names - well 2/3 John & Mary - he also had a daughter called Teresa but not sure why thats not on there.

It then gives his statement of the service but am unable to decipher most of what it states apart from little bits of what I already know.

Cork RGA - Gunner - 24.8.15
RGA Guernsey posted? - 13.5.17
Discharged K.R. 3GZ. XVI - 5.7.18

If anyone is able to look at it - or if I am able to post some bits of it - I am not too sure but would be greatful on some help on what he may have done.

Thanks,
Mike.

Clare / Not sure of location on birth record - Kilokennedy?
« on: Friday 21 April 17 10:58 BST (UK)  »
Hi,
I am trying to identify the location of my gg grandfathers birth.  He is the 2nd one down in the image - John Carmody (Son of Michael Carmody & Sarah Lynch)

It looks like the townland of Kilokennedy but not sure what it says above that - anyone with local knowledge have any ideas - couldnt see any similarities in townland names.

Thanks,
Mike.
