Radnorshire Lookup Requests / Re: Emma Williams nee Price George - Llananno
« on: Saturday 18 April 20 15:55 BST (UK)  »
Sorry, I tried to download a picture of Martha and two sisters from my tree but it didn't work (I've never fathomed how to post attachments on this site).
A few years ago I went looking for the Jandrells and found a large row graves in the church yard at Dolfor and some at Mochdre. Martha's sister moved up to North Wales to work as a cook and then got married, so Martha took her place and then she went and married her sisters brother! that is how the family came to start in Wales.

Hi Louisa
John and Naomi George's next child was Sarah. She married David Jandrell and went to live at Black Hill nr Newtown, their 6th child was Martha Elizabeth who was my grandmother, on my fathers side.
This is Martha (centre) with two of her sisters.

Denbighshire / Denbigh burials
« on: Wednesday 06 February 19 16:14 GMT (UK)  »
How would I go about finding a burial (or headstone inscription) for an interment at St Marcella’s Church Denbigh in 1844?  I’ve looked at Gravestone Photo Records for Denbigh but they all seem very recent, so I assume they are not completed yet. I am looking for a grave containing three members of a Parry family: Thomas (32 yrs) died Denbigh, buried 19th Jan 1801, his infant son Thomas, died Denbigh and buried 1798 and wife and mother Sarah died Llanfair DC in 1844 but I’m fairly sure she would have been buried with her family at St Marcella’s Denbigh. One of the objects of the exercise is to find her age at the time of death. Thanks DavidJ

The Common Room / Registration of a birth

Apologies if this has been asked before but does anyone know when mothers on their own became able to register the birth of an offspring? I believe it is a fairly recent change, previously (eg. in 1940s) it was the father that had to register the birth.
Thanks

Shropshire / Re: Eaton under Heywood
« on: Sunday 14 January 18 14:53 GMT (UK)  »
There are headstone details for most of the graves at St Edith’s Church contained in the Ticklerton Tales, a History of Eaton-under-Heywood (by Alan Dakers ISBN 0 9512250 1 4) along with census returns for many of the dwellings. The inscriptions were taken from records produced by Lilian Buddicom in 1915 with further information added by Alan Dakers himself. An excellent book if you are interested in the history of the area, currently out of print but copies are available if you search.
