Hi Ian: I just confirmed that I had the wrong Axel Anderson in my tree. Ugh!! At least now I know. I had an Axel Anderson who was born in 1866 and moved to Connecticut near my other Anderson relatives. But he is the wrong person. He died in 1945 in Naugatuck, CT.
The correct person is Axel Teodor Andersson Ostrom who left Odeshog parish for America on 17 Nov 1888. He was born 3 Jan 1865 in Veta, Ostergotland. I searched the passenger list book from Malmo/Gothenburg in late November 1888 through February 1889. I didn’t see any Axel T. Ostrom or similar.
Would he have a military record?
I found one record on ancestry.com that says he may have gone to Copenhagen and then New York.
Is there anything in the written comments in the records above that could help?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Paul
