Thanks very much for the help. It's much appreciated. Here is the first chunk of text, including the 13 initial lines you've already deciphered. Hopefully this will work !

I'm struggling to read most of the will of my 5th gt grandfather Richard Wing who was married to Sarah Triphook. He lived in Bickton, nr Fordingbridge, Hants and was a Yeoman.

Can anyone read the hand writing ?

Limerick / Eleanor (Ellen) Welsh married Robert Nixon in Limerick 1818
« on: Saturday 22 September 18 18:18 BST (UK)  »
My 3rd Gt Grandmother Eleanor (Ellen) Welsh married an English soldier called Robert Nixon at St Mary Cathedral, Limerick on 26 Dec 1818. He was from Norfolk, England but stationed in Limerick at the time. She was born somewhere in Ireland c 1800 +/- 2 years or so. She died in Jersey, Channel Islands on 11 Oct 1845. Their first child Catherine was born c1821 somewhere in Ireland, she then went onto have other children namely Agnes, Sarah and Frederick in England. They lived for quite a while in St Stephens ward, Norwich, Norfolk, England.

The above information took me many years to come by but now I'm stuck. I can't find any earlier records for Eleanor Welsh and can't be sure where she actually came from or who her family were and I'm 'desperate' to discover more about my Irish roots.

If anybody has any information or suggestions I'd be most grateful.

Thanks very much
Adrian

Very confusing......but I think there was both a British built and French built ship in 1805 of the same name. I think the British boat was a frigate built at Bucklers Hard in 1801 (this is the one I think My GtGtGt Grandfather served on) This boat was in the Bay of Biscay in Oct 1805, then there was a French boat of same name captured at BoT by the British and then recaptured straight back by French, which then sank in the Med a few months later.

Fascinating stuff. Thanks for all the help. Thank-you too Jebber - small World indeed !
