Thank you ShaunJ. Is there any way of finding out where she went? I can see the first newspaper article but not the second and it doesn’t say.

Hi I have looked everywhere I can think of for a newspaper article about a motorcycle accident my Dad has in 1953 on the corner of Rippon Rd and Strouden Rd Bournemouth. Any help greatly appreciated TIA  :)

Hi Macapam,
Yes this is definitely what is was when my uncle was born (1926) as my Great Grandfather sent his daughter there to have my "uncle" so no one would know she was pregnant and not married. What a sad story about your Grandmother.

Hi Shellmex I realise this could be a long shot as u posted some time ago but I was looking up this address also and came across ur post. My great uncle was born at 10Maxwell Rd in the mid 1930s and am wondering if u have any info u would be happy to share. At this time it was as I understand a unmarried mothers home. Thanks

Yes of course you are right. I guess I'm just going to have to obtain this death certificate and see if it is him. Other than that I may never know for sure. Thank you for all your help. 🙂

Hi Chempat. All this information is correct as I know Williams parents were Leonard and Bessie, born in Fordingbridge. I'm just not sure about where he died but is looking maybe like it was in Woolwich/Greenwich area.

William left the Bournemouth home in the mid to late 1940s. After that we don't have any clue as to where he went. He was according to my mum born near London so maybe this could be a clue. I no longer have a sub to ancestry so not sure where to go next. Thanks everyone
