I’ve found the Family Historian user group really helpful when I’ve questions about the software

I’ve just viewed a book by Patricia Rennoldson-Smith - The 1953 Essex Flood.  This book lists all those who died by town  and street.

Although Montreal Road shows under the district of Chadwell St Mary it is in Tilbury.

On the attached link if you just below the T in the Tilbury sign you will see it.

The Common Room / Re: Findmypast newspaper change

Friday morning I was able to use the clipping tool.  In the afternoon I was getting the red screen and error messages.

Today I went back to try again only to find the option of clipping an item has totally vanished.

The Common Room / Newspaper search
« on: Friday 11 August 23 18:41 BST (UK)  »
I’m attempting to search newspapers on Find My Past.

Unfortunately the surname involved is Prince.

Even though I’m putting in Albert Prince I’m getting all results for Prince Albert rather than those with the surname Prince.  As you can imagine there’s a lot of them.

Is there anyway of excluding them? Or making it search the name more accurately?

Many thanks in advance for any help.

I was definitely using the death search as I had the option of age at death.  It was something I check because like you I’ve done it before.

It was driving me batty last night.

I’ve just redone the search and she’s appeared.  Now I can see it I won’t be ordering as she’s to old. I hoped she’d be around 4yrs.

Thanks for looking at it.

Any ideas.  I’ve attempted to order a £2.50 death certificate image.  I can find the references on both Ancesty and FREEBMD they both the same. I’ve also viewed the register which matches the transcripts I’ve found.  When I try to order I can’t get it to search the name.  I’ve even tried putting her in as a male in case of error.  I’ve tried the less is more approach and using h**** for surname but get nothing.

It’s Sarah Handson q3 1860 Luton 3b vol 236

Could it be that she’s been missed?
