Limerick / Crecora church - can you help?
« on: Sunday 25 March 07 15:09 BST (UK)  »
Hi,

Does anyone live near to Crecora Church? I have just found out that both of my paternal grandparents are buried side by side in the graveyard at Crecora and I wondered if anyone local would be able to see if they can find their gravestones and send me the details?

Any help would be greatfully received.

Their names are Michael and Alice (nee Devaney) Kennedy. Michael died in 1980, Alice died before this but I am not sure of the exact year.

Many thanks

Hampshire & IOW Lookup Requests / Re: 1891 census lookup

Hi,

Have found William and Mary in the 1891 census, but not in Hampshire!  They are living at 54 Maltby Street, Bradford, Yorkshire. His occupation is listed as Forge Labourer.

Will have a search for Elizabeth and let you know.

Many thanks

Fred,

Had a check through the Ellingham parish registers, can't find Ann, but did find a James Witt, illegitimate son of John & Elizabeth Witt of Blashford (1823 I think).  Perhaps a brother ?

Had a search through Ringwood, but could only find an Ann Witt in 1804, daughter of John Witt. No other info recorded.

Perhaps this is her and she got her age wrong on all of the census returns? Maybe she thought she was younger than she really was?

Fred,

Yes, she's definately a Witt. Certificate arrived today. When looking for her birth would Blashford be included in Ringwood Ellingham parish registers?

Many thanks for all your help  ;D ;D

Thank you both for the information.  I did find that George Dives in the census but discounted him due to his age - perhaps that was a mistake.  I'll try and find him in other the census to see if any more info surfaces.

I might also order the birth certificate of Ada Mary Duncan even if it is just to discount her from my search.

I also found another possibility last night in the 1891 census -

Ada Daves born abt 1876 in Battersea.  Family living in Scarborough. Mother is Amelia Head (born Bethnal Green), married, living on own means.  No father recorded. But other children are born in West Ham, Battersea and then the last one in Southport.

Fred,

Many thanks for the info. I am waiting for the birth certificate of Ann's son to come through to find out her maiden name. I have a feeling it is Witt, but have ordered the certificate to confirm this.  Any information on the area you could send me would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Hoping someone can help me with a brick wall that I have come across with the above lady.

Details I have are:

14th November 1900

Ada married Henry Sudbury in Gorleston, Norfolk. Ada's age is shown as 25. Residence at time of marriage Islington. Father's name and occupation - George Dives.  Distiller.

1901 census

Ada and Henry living in Gorleston with Henry's son Frederick from previous marriage (to Ellen Vandervoren).  Henry was born in Cloat Lane, London.  Ada's place of birth is simply listed as London.

***

So far I have found no other trace of Ada [or her father] in any other census or in the GRO indexes for her birth.

Is anyone able to suggest a next move ? Any help would be appreciated.
