Ancestry:
Pigot's Directory 1841 Richard Perkins 267 Newtown Row Birmingham- Pistol Maker

White's Directory 1849 Richard Perkins 19 Lench Street Birmingham - Pistol Maker
Same 1852 & 1855

This is probably his son Richard who took over the business.

Yes possibly Richard Perkins who married Harriet Kendrick I am thinking he followed the same profession as his dad Richard.

Is this a possibility as he spent at least 7 years in London as an apprentice. Needs work

Richard Perkin of St Olave Southwark married Ann Clark by license at St Luke Finsbury 16 November 1794. She was of the parish.
Witness Robert Cowell Clark

yes a possibility as the births in Birmingham start in 1796 (2 years later) but needs work.

I am trying to locate any records for Richard Perkins Gun maker between 1774-1796 (London and Birmingham).

Apprenticeship Indenture record dated 28 April 1774 wherein a William SHEPHERD Citizen & Gun Maker of London, took on a Richard PERKIN as an apprentice for a period of 7 years from 31 March 1774

As my Richard Perkins was a Gun maker in Birmingham where his children were born 1796 onwards but I can not seem to find his marriage.

I have heard that Ann's Surname is supposed to be King.

I have also been told that someone on my heritage thinks her Surname was Kent and the marriage was circa 1811 (after 2 of the births) but no proof.

I haven't found their marriage yet, it may not have been in Staffordshire.

There is a Worldsend near Church Stretton, do you think this is where he meant? Though I can't see a suitable baptism near there either.  :-\

Most likely as I was wondering if they meant Worlds End.

The 1841 Census has him living at Harborne, Staffordshire (born Staffordshire), England and the 1851 has it as Harborne, Worcestershire, England (born Wolds end Shropshire) (if I have the right family in 1851).

His first born daughter born 1806 married at West Bromwich in 1837 (which I believe used to also be a part of Staffordshire). All of his children's births are in Smethwick Staffordshire.

He may have been born Josiah as this is the name used for his first child but all others after her say Joseph.

1851 census has Joseph Nicholls born Wolds End, Shropshire about 1783.

Do the Christening records still exist?
