Hi, great to make contact. I would rather correspond via private email. Does that suit you and do you know what the policy is around giving out my email address? I guess I could private message you through here with my address.

Hi, I think I might be researching the same Phillips family as you. I have only just started looking at this branch so don't have any certificates yet but at the moment I have - James Phillips married Sarah Ann Horne Hobart Tasmania 25 Feb 1874. I think he could be the son of John and Bridget Grady/Grailey/Graley. James and Sarah Ann lived in Wanganui and had their first child in Wanganui in 1875.
There is a Bridget Phillips died 1888 aged 65 in Wanganui and from articles on Papers Past I think this is 'our' Bridget. I have not found where she is buried yet.

Inverness / Re: MacLeod North Uist.

My McLeod connection in North Uist is Christina who married Donald MORRISON, they had Finlay, Duncan, Flora (my great grandmother), John, Lachlan and Angus. The children were born around 1835 through to about 1851. All the children came to New Zealand between 1857 and 1872, their parents did not come with them.

Hello from New Zealand. You posted a long time ago so don't know whether you are still tracing your MacLeod family in North Uist or not, but I have ancestors of the same name from that area. If you are still interested I would like to hear from you.

Hi, hope you don't mind me tagging on to this thread, but as you people have bought certificates from UK I thought you might be able to help me. What information would I get about the parents on a 1844 birth certificate? Would it just be names and Maiden name? Thank you for your time.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Re: Pevreal/Pavreal Families Help please

Hello everyone,
I am helping my sister trace her husband's tree and we have found the name PETHERILL very hard to find so are wondering if it is just another variation to add to your list! We have the marriage certificate for Annie KING  (married James LOGAN  14 June 1884 Wellington NZ) on it she states her parents are William KING and Sarah PETHERILL and that she was born in Gloucester, England and that she is 21 years old. We can not find a William King marrying Sarah Petherill so are wondering about your Sarah PEVERIL who would be about the right age and married John Thomas KING

1851 Census
Hewelsfield, Gloucester
HO107/2443/620/11
William PEVERIL, 32, Head, Mar, Labourer
Elizabeth, 31, Wife, Mar, born Chepstow, Monmouthshire, Wales
Sarah, 8, Daug
Hariet Peveril, 5, Daug
Mary Ann, 2, Daug
William Henry, 2mths, Son
All but Elizabeth born Hewelsfield, Glous

We have found Annie KING born March quarter1863 (which makes her the right age to be our Annie King) in Chepstow (UKBDM)  but don't know her parents. It would make her a wee baby if she come out with your family in July 1863.

We would be very interested to hear from anyone on this thread as to whether you think our Annie might tie in with the family you are tracing. The only bit that doesn't fit is her father being William seeing Sarah married John Thomas but thought it was worth asking in case you have found something we have missed.
