Thank you for your message! I am positive that the village is destroyed, it was burned during the campaign against the Polish during WWII. If you see in that first link I posted, all that remains is an old cemetery. I am not sure that Ukraine.com is the way to go, because after Galicia collapsed the village was located in Poland, not Ukraine. I need specific help with Polish records, but thank you for taking the time to reply and for your suggestions!

Europe / Seeking Help Researching Radziejowa, Galicia (Poland)
« on: Wednesday 04 March 20 15:02 GMT (UK)  »
Both of my great grandparents came from the small village of Radziejowa, Galicia, born circa 1890 -1895. The village ended up in Poland and does not exist anymore after WWII. It seems they were Greek Catholic, and I have not found church records any later than 1838 online. From the ship manifests, I have learned only their father's names and a few other relations who ended up in the US. They were married in Pittsburgh, PA, and I can't get the marriage record. Could anyone suggest where else I can look to find their records? I don't know if land records exist for a village as small as this. I have some statistics from the Poland Census of 1921 and 1931 - did they contain any surnames or just general information, and are they online? Or available by mail?
Their names were:
Fedor Krenca, born about 1891, son of Iwan Krenca. He later changed his name to Frank Krenza/Krentsa.
Katerina Procak, born about 1894, possible father Danko Procak, possible mother Tekla Michalik.
Thank you so much for any suggestions!

Here are two links to some possibly related Krenca's:

Renfrewshire / Re: Rule Family in Paisley
« on: Friday 08 June 18 16:05 BST (UK)  »
I don't see him or his family in the 1841 census - there is a Robert Rule, but I am not sure if it is him or not. I don't know his occupation, place of birth, or when he died. I literally only know when he got married and when his children were born, that is it. There is no other information on it. That is all I have to go on. The death records before 1823 are scarce to say the least. I REALLY wish whoever recorded the marriage would have taken one minute and wrote down the parents names.
All 5 of his sons ended up in the US - they could have been there in 1841 for all I know. That was why I was wondering about the parish, did they ever have periodic lists of their members?

Renfrewshire / Church Parish Member List?
« on: Wednesday 06 June 18 17:29 BST (UK)  »
I am wondering if any of the church parishes had some sort of member records, similar to a census, where they listed all of their members at a given time? Due to the Scottish naming patterns, there are several people bearing the exact same name, all living in the same village at the same time, with no way to distinguish who was who. And then they got married, and all that is on their marriage record is their all-to-common names, the date, and a notation that they were members of the parish. No parents names, no witnesses.  They must have foreseen that this would become an issue! I am wondering specifically about the Paisley Middle parish (marriage in 1823). I can't go back any further in my genealogy research because I can't determine WHICH Robert Rule married WHICH Agnes Bowie! I tried to attach the record image from SP, but the site says the image is too large. If anyone has any ideas, I would really appreciate them!

I think you may be on the right track, ev! Most of the children line up, at least. Now, do you have any idea how I can find out who this Robert Rule's parents are? The census says he was born around 1806, the two I was trying to decide between are 1802 and 1801.

Renfrewshire / Rule Family in Paisley
« on: Monday 07 May 18 15:24 BST (UK)  »
I have ended up with a tangled mess trying to find my ancestors in Paisley, so I am posting for some help! My 4th great grandfather is Robert Rule, married to Agnes Bowie on May 9, 1823. I cannot find anything on Agnes Bowie, and there are two Robert Rules only a year apart in SP. I checked the marriage certificate (attached), nothing but their names, no parents, witnesses, etc. Maybe someone is familiar with the family or can point me in the right direction - please! The two Robert Rules are: #1, son of Robert Rule & Jean Bowie, born May 30, 1802. #2, son of John Rule & Margaret Stevenston, born Dec 27, 1801. One of them married Agnes Bowie, and the other married twice, to Margaret Spiers and then Helen Rankin. Even the naming pattern of their children is not helping, any assistance distinguishing which Robert Rule married Agnes Bowie is much appreciated!

Wow!! I had no idea, thank you very much for your reply. I have dismissed so many family relationships based on the fact that there was no record of them in SP, now I have to really go back and take a second look at everything I have.
