Dorset / Re: Help! Where is he from?

Thanks Richard,

I have traced this line back to Pimperne through Martin Frampton. Sadly the parish looks to have not kept records during the civil war years. Through a will I found I believe he was the son of a Thomas Frampton! There is a Robert Frampton born 1622 Pimperne who became Bishop of Gloucester, I am sure he must be related and quite possibly where the 'Deacon' name comes from later on.
Thanks again,

Penninah  :)

Thanks Sandra for taking the time to reply to this old thread.
I have some but not all of what you posted so thank you.

Ah, yes I have spoken with Sue! She gave me the photograph in the first place so I don't believe she has any of my great grandfather, unless she came across more photos since then.  It must have been over ten years ago since I last heard from Sue. I hope she is well.

Thanks Pete,

Penninah

Hi Norm,

Do you or your sister have an Ancestry account? I can email you a link to the tree I have on there of the Doling's if you like.

Hi Norm,

Yes, Blackie was a Chemist. I have a photo of what I assume is Lucy and possibly two of her brothers, I'm not sure, standing outside. I have been trying to find a photograph of my great grandfather William George Doling for a very long time with no success. I had been in touch many years ago with relatives of your fathers sister Connie.
The Doling family I have back into the early 1700's in Romsey, Hants. The Irish comes from William and Lucy's paternal grandmothers side. Her name was Jane Carey, her father was born in Jersey to Irish parents Robert and Ann. I believe Robert came from Maryborough, Laois. He was a career soldier.

Regards,

Penninah

Thank you Colubus,

That wasn't my tree but one I was working on at the time for a friend in Colchester.

Yes I have that, thanks.
Just an inventory, although interesting, it doesn't give anything about his family away which is what I am trying to figure out as I can't find his baptism.

Thank you both for explaining that to me, I could only make out snippets.

I did try posting on an AncestryUK page on FB with just one very short line of the text and had it deleted because apparently I was 'in breech of copyright'.. even though I see others do similar all the time. I tried attaching the link to the document on Ancestry but it just came up as a 'join ancestry link'?

I see Allen is the father to Richard but does it say who Martin is? I'm thinking Richard's brother. I am pretty sure he is my direct descendant, there are no other Martin's around. He dies in 1695 though I can't find a marriage for him or his birth, which I am assuming has something to do with the civil war.

Thanks again,

Penninah
