yes, Elizabeth was registered as Jane Elizabeth same as her mother. She was baptised 7 April 1861 in Nantyglo, daughter of William & Jane Elizabeth living in Brynmawr. It would appear that Rees was still around before the birth of the second Catherine, the name appears to come from the Trivett side of the family as Rees had a younger sister with that name. But there's a possible death registration for her as Rouse in 1883.

Susan Trivett, the widowed mother of Rees, remarried dec qtr 1883 to George Grice. I can't find them on the 1891 census either, but a widowed Susan Grice is on the 1901.

No sign of Rees after 1882 but you have him in the US after that.

Seaby is a mistranscription. If you check the copy of the census, it starts with L not an S and is more than likely Leahy.

Names were often recorded as they sounded by registrars or clergy so variations of Leahy ensue.

another marriage registered at Crickhowell
William Kelly june qtr 1884 vol 11b pg 167 with Jane Holmes on the same page

1881 census more than likely says Jane, in my defence, the writing isn't clear.
