Hi dee,

Asked about photographer imprints to check own photos to see if I could get a date corresponding to your photos.
BUT... none of mine have those photographers on them.
I googled the names but got no help about when they might have been working in Adelaide.
Seems like you have got close dating anyway from reading all the posts.

I thought they wore black dresses for getting married in back in the old days. ;D

Hi dee,
I agree. Lovely photos.

Can you tell me if there is a studio imprint  or name on any of the photos.
And do you have an approx date for them.

Thanks Sue and Chris,
There are actually pictures of Thomas's grave online at the Kanyakka Station history site. He got killed there.
Thanks for the Farina site as it was sort of the family"seat" so to speak back in the late 1800's. Great to have a look see at what it was like.
They all had TB so had to live in the outback to survive!!

PS just as a matter of interest my great grandpa William Kerrisk is listed on his marriage certificate as a camel driver at MT Lyndhurst station.
He was Irish born on Bermuda, came to Australia aged 30 yrs.
For years we thought he must be Aboriginal Afghan as they are generally known to be camel drivers.
Most shocked to find his roots in Bermuda to Irish parents !!!!

Hi All,

can someone tell me how to look up South Australian cemeteries online,
if it is possible that is.
I see everyone posting burial details and would like to be able to look for myself.

Thanks
Julie

Well dee,
You have come up trumps there.
Florence Mary Holyoake was born at Streaky Bay in 1869. Her sister Edith Holyoake is my great grandma.
I thought that Auntie Winnie was another sister of theirs.
You have cleared that little problem up quickly!!!!!  :-[

Thanks Dee,
That will get me started at least.
Now I can  look to see if their were Cumming children.
Maybe a child may have been named after Grandma Julia Gliddon or a Holyoake or Bunting sister.
Thanks again Dee

 Hi All  ;D
Just wanting details of marriage of Winifred Hollyhock  who lived somewhere out in the Melrose area.
Name of parents particularly of interest.

Also any other reference to Winifred Hollyhock, Ollyock, or Holyoake.
Thanks
Julie

I have spent a lot of fruitless hours in war records  ::)  and other files trying to get records of Colonial Office.
10 mins with your info has given me two letters by my Kerrisk man.
Thanks again
Julie   :D :D :D
