Free Photo Restoration & Date Old Photographs / Re: Query Uniform
« on: Friday 15 September 23 13:38 BST (UK)  »
wow!

Thank you all for the information given.

I have been researching my tree for a long time and consider myself to be very careful when adopting information from another's research.

I actually found this photograph attached to his profile on what I assumed to be a reliable source on Ancestry.

I will now remove it.

It shows that even after years of experience and being told time and time again to not copy non-sourced information, I still did it.  :-[

Thanks so much,

Red :)

Hi,
my 4th Gt Grandfather, John Dunbavand b 1823 • Runcorn, Cheshire. His occupation on Census is a Waterman. I'm surprised that they would look so smart. What exactly is this uniform?
Can anyone add to the information given?
Sorry if I have posted in the wrong place.
Thanks,
Red :)

I have had my DNA researched on Ancestry. I haven't discovered anything new or any relatives either. However, I do have 3% Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Germanic Europe 2%. Can I assume I have Vikings as ancestors or is that my romantic imagination?

As far as I know, I have no Scandinavian relations.

World War Two / Re: S/Maj. James Cecil McLennan

Hi, thanks Andy  :)

Hello John, thank you for contacting me. I have been researching my family tree for many years. My surname before marriage was McLennan. James Cecil McLennan is of interest to me because he features in my tree. His father John McLennan is the brother of my great grandfather George McLennan.

At the moment I am trying to contact relatives who may be connected to my tree too and if interested in ancestry hopefully swap information.

Redkop :)

Thanks Jed  :)

I feel like a rookie here, things have changed.

I decided to dust off my research and do some more.

I hope you're well.
