I've had a quick look into this record and I don't think its the Stuart McIntosh I'm after  :-\  ???

Marriage record on Scotlands People, says :
13th Feb 1808 at Nairn John Stewart and Stewart MacKintosh we matrimonially contracted and were married.

Could anyone tell me what 'Matrimonially contracted' means ?

Stewart had 3 children between 1808 and 1811 with Alexander McIntosh and was in Angus

?? Mothers death 1865 - no mmn shown & birthyear 10yrs out??

STEWART MCINTOSH  78   F 1865   168 / 1 / 84  St Nicholas

However - there is a male Stewart McIntosh b 1791 Nairn on the 1861 census living in the St Nicholas RD

Thank you Carole

I've just had a look at the death record and it says Stewart Stuart widow of John Stuart daughter of unknown McIntosh.  I'm going to look in to this further as its possible she remarried after her first husband Alexander McIntosh died.  I havent been able to find a birth or death for Alexander as I don't know who his parents were or his date/place of birth

It says male for Stuart Hastings 1777 ...  (could be clerical error)

Quote
HASTINGS

STUART

ROBERT HASTINGS/ELIZABETH LOWNIE

29/08/1777

I think it is, on her marriage is says Stuart Hastings daughter of Robert Hastings

Forsyth was 97 when he died in 1908

Ages from various sources
1841 - 25, 1851 - 27, 1860 - 39 1861 - 40, 1871 - 50, 1881 - 64, 1891 - 75, 1901 - 83, 1908 - 97

When & where did his mother die as the transcription of her name on the 1841 & 1851 census is nothing like Stuart (or anything else)

Transcriptions are wrong, if you're looking at ancestry as I have viewed original on Scotlands People. Trying to find death of his mother, she was born in Angus but census is Aberdeen

The 1795 marriage shows Stuart/Hastings rather than Stuart Hastings.  Does Forsyth’s 1908 death cert confim her christian name as Stuart
Marriage says Alexander McIntosh and Stuart Hastings daughter of Robert Hastings

On his wedding she's listed as Stewart McIntosh nee Hastings on his death Jane McIntosh nee Stewart

Forsyth married & died as MacIntosh - not McIntosh
1841-1871 he is McIntosh
1881-1901 - surname is MacIntosh

Doesn’t help one little bit as no birth/baptism under either spelling ::) I usually search all variations of McIntosh as I have various one in my tree :)

Thanks

Fiona

Hi, I'm a bit stuck and wondered if anyone was up for a challenge  :)

Posted a few years ago about my ggg grandfather Forsyth McIntosh and have managed to find more info but could do with a bit of help.

Forsyth McIntosh had an illegitimate child with Ann Beattie (Alexander, was my gg grandfather) in Aberdeen in 1840.
I have Forsyth on the census from 1841 (1841 and 1851 living in Aberdeen) onwards until his death in 1908 in Portree Isle of Skye, where he married a Susan McDonald ( married 1860)  I'm struggling to find a birth for him.  From various certificates and census his birth is anywhere from 1811 to 1821 in Aberdeen but I can't find anything.

His parents were Alexander McIntosh and Stuart Hastings (Hartings/Hasties) Alexander was born c1770 but no other info on him.  I'm interested in Stuart, she was born 1777 in Forfar and married Alexander in 1795.  I have her on 1841 and 1851 census living with son Forsyth in Aberdeen but can find no death for her. Obviously various spellings of her first name.

Any help/guidance on trying to find Forsyths birth and Stuarts death would be fantastic

Thanks

I wonder if anyone can help.  I have an ancestor that, in 1939, was resident in East Lancashire Home, Park Lane, Kersal.  It says he is incapacitated.  His wife and grown up children are all living in and around Hull.  Can anyone tell me what this home was ? I'm wondering why he would be there and not somewhere nearer to home.

Thanks

I'm in Grimsby
Might be worth contacting the Grimsby Local History Library or Great Grimsby Family History, both are on Facebook.

Hi Steve

I've had a message back from PFHS they've searched all the Lansallos and Talland (the two parishes of Polperro) baptism records and there is no record of a Thomas Forward being baptised in 1802 and nothing on the Cornwall OPC database either.
Not sure where you could look next, maybe try and trace John & Elizabeth Langmaid who Sarah was living with in 1841 and see if they can be connected somehow
