Im hoping that someone can help with a NZ Herald lookup.
The details are,Life Sentence for Murder,NZ Herald,15th June 1977,page 3.If someone is able to assist, due to the sensitive nature,perhaps it would be better to PM me.It occurs to me that as the event happened in Waitara that perhaps it was mentioned in the Taranaki newspapers.If any more information is needed please dont hesitate to ask.                                                              Many thanks in advance.gereon.

Hi there,thats right Frank Foster the brother of Thomas,was married to Hannah Leighton 1866 at Hull.They had eight children,Sarah being born 1878 at Howden.Just to get confusing they also had another daughter,Charlotte Alice Foster,born 1874 at Howden who on the 1891 Census,is living with one of Frank and Thomass sisters Sarah Foster who is married to Thomas Campsall at Goole Yorkshire.It seems that the Foster children were farmed out a little,maybe looking for prospective husbands as Charlotte Alice Foster married Henry Harrison 1894 at Goole.But I guess Im straying from the path here.

Thanks again Jackie for your prompt replies,though it does raise the question,who did the grand children belong to?There has to have been I guess a previous marriage,but without the brides name its a bit of a mystery.Many thanks for all the info and food for thought.Very greatly appreciated.

Hi Jackie, were you wondering abot the Sarah Foster,grand daughter?I know I was as I was unaware of a previous marriage.I only found the one at Howden 1874 to Elizabeth Peikitt which I took for granted was meant to be Peckett.
The parents of Thomas were William Foster and Sarah Foster (maiden name Proctor) Thomas Foster chrs.11th Oct at Blacktoft Yorkshire.
