Lee,

Thank you - I was trying to do it by 'guessing' names!  A laborious and not very fruitful task!!  However the parents of David in 1808 are from Tybrithia, or some such name...is that close to Pen y Geulan or/and Nant Erias?  I have nothing at all on William and Margaret before 1841 when they are at Dolwyd Bach, Trebwll (where I visited descendants in 1956!!) so they could have been anywhere!!  Pity there are no earlier censuses!!

Thank you for that, Lee.

Now please tell me how you found that image (John) as I have no idea how to search for other children...except by trial and error!! (I am using FindMyPast)  I found a David, son of William and Margaret, in 1808 but it gave a different place name.  Are you using Ancestry, which may be easier to search for parents' names?  It may answer a lot of questions if I can turn up some more brothers for Thomas!!!

Thank you again,

Hazel

Ooh thank you!!  Llandrillo yn Rhos will do fine - that's where I knew he came from and I was put out by the other name!!  I think I can be reasonably sure that it's who I thought it was - I'm sure you understand!!!  Right parents, right Birth in the right place - looks like I've come up trumps!!!  (I hope!)

Thanks again for your extremely prompt replies!

Can anyone please help with reading the place name on this Baptism entry?  Unfortunately there is no help on the transcription - just Mar 10th 1810 in Denbighs.  As we all know there are hundreds of Williams' around I really need to know I am in the right area!!!

Thanking you in advance

Hello Lucy2 & Newbe!

Sorry I have been so long getting back - yes, I received Rosina's Death Certificate but, in the end, it did little more than confirm her death (and give me exact date!) and husband and parents - they had no children!!  However, I have since found Archibald and Elizabeth's children (not the ones I had previously thought!!) and made contact with one of their son's wives (now aged 82!) who lives in England.

Thank you so much for all the help you gave me, I really do appreciate it!

All the Best,
Hazel   ;D

Our last posts crossed!  Shame there will be no children's names but it will be interesting anyway!

Well you see I put in 1930 as earliest date for Death!!  And up came a William Ernest aged 71 who died in 1964 - hence my reserve!!  I've now done it properly and found the real one - I am thrilled!!  So it has to be him!  However the Death Cert will hopefully give me other details (children etc.) that I can't hope to find with the Williams surname!   :-[

Thanks for pointing it out!

Well, I took the plunge and have ordered Rosina's Death certificate hoping it will confirm that William Ernest is indeed 'mine'!  This is because his age at death does not correspond to his d.o.b. by 17 years!  However, I shall also find out if they had any children.  Unfortunately I had supposed that Certificates were down-loadable as they are in Australia but they are not!  So I now have to contain my soul in patience until it arrives - probably a couple of weeks!

By the way, Newbe, Lilian Maud's d.o.b. was ok - obviously a typo!!

I am now chasing Archibald's children!  Watch this space!!
