A straw to clutch at,
Familysearch has a marriage in Lampeter 11 Dec 1753 of a Lucretia Rees to Thos. David.

Any names you find will most likely be patronymic which can be very confusing.

Mike

Hi Mike

I have just found the information in a primary source hidden away in an annotation under the spline of the binding. And indeed, patronymic does not help when trying to work out kinship patterns !

Cardiganshire / Does anyone have access to parish records for Lampeter circa 1778 ?
« on: Wednesday 01 March 17 12:01 GMT (UK)  »
Hi

A longshot I know, but can anyone help with the following :

I'm looking into a female named Lucretia who died in Lampeter sometime between 12 Jan- 20th April 1778.

I'm interested in her surname (possibly Williams), the name of her daughter and a more exact date of death or burial.

I wondered if she may reside in someone's family tree.

As this is not research into a family tree, I have no other relevant genealogical family information to help narrow things down.

Many thanks.

I would appreciate you advising how you found out what Thomas ate before the battle, etc.  Any extra titbits would be great to add.

This is a blast from the past. Its now six years on and I'm afraid the link between John Durston b1707 and Thomas Durston is still illusive. The primary issue is a damaged BMD microfilm that appears to have John Durston b1707; however, much of it is unreadable.

The historic accounts of Thomas [and his eating habits] should be held at SRO, and are often cited in many books detailing events at Sedgemoor. Its been many years since I carried out the research and I no longer have the information to hand. I'll see what I can find when I next dive into the basement of my computer.

You'll have to forgive me,but this was an old post, so I had to double check what I had. I have pretty much all I need on the Rouths, its Catherine and her Father ( Irish roots ) that I was stuck on. The Rouths go back to Thirsk in North Yorkshire back in the 1720's

But the census info below may help you.  I have all the BDM certs and the odd picture

Hi, we might be on the same track, however this is not the John Russell that I am looking for. I have also got a death certificate for a John Russell born abt 1838, he died in 1900 at 115 Elizabeth Street, but I can't find out if it is my John Russell as the address does not really tie in with the family, nor the occupation of General Labourer.

Have you any clues? Regards Peter Russell.

My Russell line was fully completed about 15 years.  The above certificate was sent to me by mistake, so rather than throw it away I placed it on the site to see if it was anyone else's.

But for general info, my Russells are from Somerset and moved to London in the late 1800's where they worked as Telegraphists in the GPO.

I've just returned from the CRO.

But my wife found a relative in Bodmin Jail, but she found the information at the Cornwall family records office ( also in Truro ).

You could order the documents to be posted out to you.

I might be able to help.

I decend from the Rouse family ( although not your line ).  I'm in contact with Prof J Street who wrote The Geneology of the Rouses.  Jack Streets friend and co-writer Dr Peters,  may also post on these forums as well.

I have also spent many years studying the Rouse lines.

If you want to PM me more details, I will take a look and see what I can find.

I don't suppose I qualify only being a descendant of Christopher's sister Sarah
Syljun

You would need the blood link to Sophia Rouse ( Christophers wife ).

But I think there is an hidden gem if  this Durston link can be made ;)
