Technical Help / Re: Transferring images from camera to iPad
« on: Wednesday 13 July 22 22:06 BST (UK)  »
Thanks so much for the information you kindly supplied, and I apologise for not having replied sooner, but I’ve spent some in The Doldrums + time in hospital - and recovery time is never as quick as you want it to be!  :)
Yes, I do have a Window PC but i can’t sign in as I can’t remember the password  from long, Lon ago, and Google isn’t very keen to help me!  However, this evening, it has suddenly displayed a message: ‘Error: OS - BOOT - FAILURE.  Eventually it added ‘ Everything’s back to normal.  We successfully restored you PC to a working state.’  Great, I thought! But, of corse, I still can’t sign-in!  :'(

To add insult to injury . . . my new TV is being installed on Saturday . . . And it’s an Android TV and so that’ll be Google as well!  We all be doomed. Doomed,
 I say!  :o

Alan & groom - apologies for delay in replying.

Alan have removed the 0 from my number, and ‘44’ also shows.  But I still get the same response: ‘This doesn’t look right, please re-enter your phone number’.  >:( Have also rung mobile to landline and landline to mobile and, of course, there are no problems.  Guess yahoo doesn’t want me!  ;D

groom: thanks for link - seems quite difficult - but will keep for reference.

Have tried three times, entering the numbers carefully, and tychecking one up, to no avail. Their system basically implies it’s wrong.  My line is from EE via ‘1p mobile.’  Any advice would be gratefully received,   :)

Gmail is, officially' my email programme, but I just had a message from Google checking that I’m the right person using it. But, I came unstuck being unable recall my password - I set it up some set it up some time ago. And, to add to the problem I no longer have that mobile.  So, that’s why I’m trying to set up a different email account.  :)

Many thanks for replies, much appreciated - and apologies for late reply!  I’ll go down the new r/c batteries and just keep everything crossed. ;)  Reluctant to replace my main unit + handsets unless absolutely necessary - being mindful that landlines are due to be “switched off” in 2025  :'(

Technical Help / Cordless phone misbehaving!oticeoticed
« on: Saturday 27 November 21 15:25 GMT (UK)  »
My 2-year-old “Panny” cordless phone is playing up.  Late last night I noticed the phone screen display had changed to: ‘Base no power’/‘charging’.  This morning the message was still the same.  Have googled this but nothing helps.   The phone has rechargeable batteries (Ni-MH) would they need replacing? The phone is always connected - power and phone line.

An excellent, and very interesting programme was Dame Judi’s!  It was so interesting - and, for a change, I didn’t nod off once - for a change!  ::)  But I do record the programme as a back up.

The Lighter Side / Re: Change of name.

I did my name change at my Solicitors in 1990, following the death of both parents in 1989 (they wanted me to do this) but unfortunately, life events took precedence!  I informed my employers, Bank, Government departments, etc.  It was straightforward – only the “problem” happened when I returned from a holiday in Sri Lanka and I was stopped by Customs/Immigration and pointed out that they noticed there were two people with very similar names!  Fortunately, I was able to clarify the situation that it had been done through my Solicitors.  Then I was escorted to be searched / frisked for drugs!   ;D

My form arrived yesterday, so put in a safe place.  All I hope is that I remember where that place is!  :D
