Channel Islands Lookup Requests / Re: Bree Family
« on: Friday 01 April 16 10:39 BST (UK)  »
Hi Jamie,
My name is Alice - my uncle was John Charles Bree born in Jersey. He is part of the family la grande-methe has mentioned in their reply.
I had the pleasure of actually meeting Uncle John and his family a few years back. I asked him about Beryl Holloway and he informed me that he had only married once and that he was still married to her (Pam) and that he didn't know a Beryl.
So I think there must be more than one John Charles Bree, born in Jersey. I know that there was quite a few Bree family's in Jersey when I sent out letters asking if they were part of my family tree.

I wish you luck in your endeavour to find your family members. I, on the other hand have come to a stand still. Living in Australia and trying to find information from Jersey is very hard.

Regards,
Alice

Hi Jamie,
Thanks for your enquiry. Unfortunately my John Charles Bree was not married to Beryl Holloway. He was only married to Pamela Jarvie. I had the pleasure of meeting both John and Pam a few years back and I asked him about Beryl. He said he had only been married once and that was to Pam. They have both since passed away.
Sorry I'm unable to he you with your John and Beryl.

Regards,

Alice

Hi Lisa & Denny123,

My name is Alice and I live in Australia.
Sorry, to have not replied any earlier but I forgot that I had started this page.
Marie Alexandrine Bree (Belhomme) was my grandmother, my dad - David George Bree was born in 1934, in St Clements, Jersey.
Denny - dad had a brother Derek, born about 1940.

Dad didn't talk about his childhood very much and it wasn't until a few years before his death that I was finally able to find his older brother - John.

I haven't been able to do much with my tree, but if I can help, let me know.

Alice

Hi Shirley,
thanks for your reply. I'm not sure whether you can help me, I'm  looking for a Jean/John Bree born about early 1880s. Unable to help you with a middle name or place of birth. I believe it to be Jersey, Channel Island but am unsure. All I know is that he eventually marries an Amelia Carboulec (born c1882) who was apparently born in France.
Thanks

Hi Stewart, thanks a heap for finding out everything. You don't know how excited everyone was at my genealogy class to hear that I (you) have found my family at last. Sorry that you got an empty personal reply, I must have pressed the wrong button, so again thanks for your time on helping me find my family. In regards to finding a living relative - that would be really great, as I wasn't aware that he had a sister, only the brother you found. Dad did say that his father did have other children (?7) with another woman (? as to her name) and that he has twin step sisters and a step sister called Shiona.
Again many, many thanks, as I wouldn't know where I would be with my poor little sapling if it hadn't been for you and your willingness to help.

Hi Stewart, thanks for that info, you don't know how much this means to me (well you might) to finally be finding out info about my family. In Tuesday 2nds posting you wrote that David George Bree was born 27 Oct 1934 - is this right as I now it to be the 22 Oct 1934, are you able to check that out for me please  :). How do I go about getting copies of everything and what would the cost be.
Again, many thanks for you help
