Well this is so interesting would love to have a copy of any articles or anything you have on this family. My Mum relayed it that she was feeding one of the Boers and another thought she was trying to poison him and kicked her taking a chunk out of the leg, and it never healed so maybe got pneumonia as a complication. Henrietta name fits because I'm Henrietta (Rita) also after a family name. I will send you a PM with my email if you would be so kind  as to copy anything you have this will add to my family search.

Thanks so much for all this information, the original Mary McEwan supposedly died during the boer war and was buried in South Africa but cannot find anything on her

I have been researching Cobbs from Montrose for about 10 years. I decent from James Cobb and Jane Wickley, their son Anthony Cobb married Ann Fraser their child Lily Cobb married Edmund Bryson,  they would have been my father's grandparents. Their child Phyllis Bryson was my father's mother. She died very young. Would love to see photos of the Cobb family if anyone has anything. I have lots of documentation, one picture of her siblings. Family History Beginners Board / Need help to identify marking in my Grandmother's watch.

This was my grandmother's watch, would like to identify the marking's in it. Trying to find out the age of it may be the make. It has a 9 at the top P to the left side Lions head right side, 375 on bottom LA below 375, numbers below are 525759. Scratched in to the right of the lion head are 2 sets of numbers, 24295 and below that 9483R. Any help would be appreciated. My grandmother was born 1880 in Glasgow.
