London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / Re: 1891 Census - Robinson
« on: Monday 15 October 07 23:33 BST (UK)  »
Hi Meliora

Thankyou very much for trying, I do appreciate another set of eyes looking.

I will email the Society and ask if they have any record.  I have the date of the rescue which should help, just don't know the location.

Yes I have his Death Certificate but can't lay my hands on it right now.  From memory it was his wife Ethel May (nee Gregory) who is the informant.

Again, thanks very much for your help, Ill be back! ;D

Thanks

Oh bother, and I did so well with my first question over on the London thread!  ;D

Ok. Frederick was 30 on his death certificate and yes the Frederick is 20 on the 1901 Census.

The reference should have been RG13/673 fol 15 page 21

Sorry about that guys.

London & Middlesex Completed Lookup Requests / 1891 Census - Robinson

Need to start by saying Im 99% sure this is my GGrandfather ;)

Background info:
In 1903 Frederick William Robinson married Ethel May Gregory in Twickenham Parish Church.
In 1910 Frederick William Robinson is listed in Kellys Directory (Essex/Herts/Middlesex) @ 9 Camac Road, Twickenham as a Boot repairer.
In 1911 Frederick William Robinson died.
In 1928 when his son (my grandad) married Frederick Robinson was listed as Bootmaker deceased.

Family Rumour: He died from influenza a month after rescuing a child from drowning 'somewhere'.  He apparantly received a certificate from the Royal Humane Society.  Also he swam competitively for Middlesex. Fredericks father was a Butler named William.

I have found a Bootmaker, Frederick Robinson living as a boarder in Teddington in 1901. RG13/674 fol 15 page 21.  He is born in Hastings, Sussex.

What I would like to find is this Sussex born Frederick somewhere in the 1891 Census.  As I said at the beginning, Im not 100% sure this is my guy.  If 10 year old Frederick is at home with his dad called William then Ill be more convinced.  ;D  I have tried without success.

Phew!  Knew I'd get to the point in the end!

Oh, I came to the Middlesex lookup as that was where he ended up.  Just let me know if I should also post in Sussex.  thanks

Hello All

I have a quick question about the result  :)

Barb found my relatives at
RG12/244 fol 22 p 38
86 Shaftsbury st/cres

I went to Ancestry which is my usual haunt because I wanted to see them (sure you understand)
Anyway...
I could only find
RG12/244 fol 22 p 37 sch 280-287
(82-85 Shaftsbury st) and
RG12/244 fol 23 p 39 sch 292-297
2-6 Cavendish st

Is the missing page somewhere where I can view it? Am I the only one who
can't see it?  ;)  Is it time I got new glasses?

Thanks heaps!

Hello!

I would LOVE to find the Brittle Family in 1891.

This is them in 1901

Elenor             b 1897                             born St Lukes London

My grandfather George Edward was born a few months after this.

In 1881 Thomas is 13 and with his parents Thomas and Elizabeth @ 33 Cropley St, Shoreditch, no siblings and he had the occupation of an erand boy.  RG11/389 Sch 110
In 1881 Emily is 11 and with her married sister and family @ 3 Fore St Villas, Edmonton, Middlesex RG11/1388 Sch 36

I have been looking for this family for quite a while in 1891.  I also have another GGrandfather missing in 1891 but Ill save him for later.

Thank you in advance, I really hope another set of eyes can find what Im missing
