Cambridgeshire / Re: Moses Nice married in Cambridge 1760

Thank you Riojatinto for your message.  I have been to Suffolk Record Office and in my notes I have found other children born to Moses and Mary in Bury St Edmunds.

Baptisms:  John 1728, Mary 1734, Samuel 1738

Burials:  William 1724 and Richard 1741

There are NICE families also in Barton, great Waldingfield, Kirkley and Palgrove - a common surname in that part of England.

Look forward to hearing from you when you are researching your Nice family.

Thanks David for warnings of taking IGI as true.

I have found in parish registers that a Moses Nice was baptised in 1730 at Bury St Edmunds and parents were Moses and Mary.  The earlier baptisms were difficult to read so have not found any siblings to see if Moses the younger named his children after them.  That's as far back as I can go.

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Re: MARSHALL baptism in Dartford

To look at registers for Dartford on Cityark site scroll down the page.  Holy Trinity is the parish church and has the oldest registers.  I guess you would rather find for yourself the baptism of John Verrier Marshall.
Happy hunting!

I have a marriage for John Verrier and Ann Marshall in Dartford Kent - 12 July 1812.  The witnesses were Clarissa and Augustus Marshall who were brother and sister to my great great grandfather, another John.
When I have found baptism for John Verrier Marshall I shall let you know.

Dorset Lookup Requests / Town criers in Longfleet Poole
« on: Thursday 18 October 07 08:46 BST (UK)  »
On the death certificate of Marina Bridle 26 November 1849 it states that she was the widow of William Bridle, Town Crier.  He died in 1843 in Longfleet. How do I find out about Town Criers in this area?  Marina  was "Accidently Burnt"
Thank you in anticipation.

Cambridgeshire / Moses Nice married in Cambridge 1760

Moses Nice married Elizabeth Lee in 1760 in Cambridge. I have found Elizabeth's baptism in Cambridge parish registers in 1736.  No Moses Nice baptised in Cambridge but through IGI found a Moses Nice baptised in Bury St Edmunds in 1730.  Elizabeth was buried in Cambridge in 1809 but have not found Moses.  Anybody connected with either Nice or Lee families?
