Thank you for the reply.
I am new to Norfolk research so still trying to locate places properly along with the appropriate churches etc.
My gggrandfather Richard Lewis of Glamorgan married an Elizabeth Cozens(born about 1848) somewhere in the early to mid 1870s.
Elizabeth calaims to come from Drayton in Norfolk and I believe their eldest child Elizabeth Mary Elmira Lewis was born there according to BMD.
Richard was a private in the Royal Welsh Fusilliers and moved around. My great grandfather was born in Gibraltar. ( very useful fact in tracing Richard Lewis' in Wales) The next child was born in Plymouth and then he left the army in 1881.
I am trying to find a means of connecting Elizabeth Cozens to a family in Drayton as I cannot find a marriage and therefore a father's name.
I think I may have located the correct one but was looking for more than co-incidenes to be certain.
There is a family with a father Benjamin and mother Eliza. One of Richard and Elizabeh's children was called Benjamin and another Amelia which could be named after one of her sisters.
After leaving the army the family returned to Glamorgan and I have had no other connections wit Norfolk.
Any suggestions of confirming Elizabeth Cozens family would be gratefully received.
Jane
