Thanks Paper Past,

I will quote myself again! ;D :D

Them upstairs have decided there is nothing for me to look at this time, but good luck to those that have little nuggets of information to go on with.

I haven’t had any trouble.
(I don’t bother to log in with my RealMe, but just go straight to the search)

Same here, no problems at all.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Re: Immigration records if not arrived by ship

Hello,

Not much help at all, for not coming into NZ, but for one of mine in the 1950's I came across an overseas Passenger and Crew Manifest.  Didn't tell me much apart from DOB/birth place, Date of Arrival, Airline  and flight number.  This was on Ancestry.

New Zealand Completed Requests / Re: A big thank you to our Moderator

I'm sure everyone will agree that we owe grateful thanks to Spades, who as a very busy man, still takes precious time out to attend to look up requests and to keep the forum tidy and in good order.

Wishing him and his a Happy Christmas and the very best for the coming year.

Minniehaha.  ;D

Yes, a lot goes on behind the scenes.

Merry Christmas Spades, hope it will be a restful day for your family and yourself. :)

New Zealand Completed Requests / Re: UK GRO CERTIFICATES
« on: Monday 28 August 23 05:57 BST (UK)  »
I think the one I ordered a while back took about 8 weeks to arrive.   The ones from SP sometimes takes a month to arrive from ordering.

Nothing is quick as it used to be when receiving something from overseas.

Handwriting Deciphering & Recognition / Re: nz Birth Cert fathers occupation
« on: Monday 21 August 23 01:04 BST (UK)  »
The 1931 electoral roll has his occupation as Carrier, although he appears later to have become a Tailor.

Ian C

Ian bet me ;D  The 1928 E/R  also says Carrier, which is a year before the wedding, so that occupation would probably fit.

Edit:  I guess it is going to be a case of Ping Pong between us ;D

Nice one Lu. :)  Our ancestors sure do like to test us going through haystacks, searching for them using different names etc.
