Thanks to everyone who took the trouble to respond - I'm overwhelmed!
The witnesses were Richard Cross and Bessie Davies - relationship to my parents un-known and sadly I don't know my g-father's accupation.
However, you all seem to have spotted the right event and the family details. I will attempt to slot them into my tree and see how they fit in.
Many thanks to all concerned.
I shall be away from home for the next 4 days but will pick up again on my return.

Hello again Mick,
Right, got it!
Married at St. Mary's, Kirkdale, Liverpool. 29th March 1909. Dad's father was Thomas Jones. Dad was a butcher and when he first moved to Ellesmere Port he went as manager of a new branch for the company (can't remember it,s name !) After de-mob in 1919 he found his job gone so he opened his garage.
Regards,
Ron.

Hello,
this is my first posting and I am looking for help in finding details of my father's place of birth, family details etc.
Named Albert Edward Jones he was born around 1886 in the Rochdale, Lancs area (I think!).
I believe he had at least one brother (Stanley) and one or two sisters - one of whom was a local council member (labour) I understand.
Dad married my mother (Hannah Isobel Haygarth) In Liverpool around 1900 and later went to live in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
He was in the RFC and later the RAF during WW1. On his release he opened a garage in E Port which he ran until his death in Dec. 1944 at the age of 59.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
rontonton.
