Thank you for your replies. Maybe I didn't wait long enough, so I shall try again and see if I have more success.

Thank you for that. I followed the links as stated, but as soon as I try to use the PDF the screen freezes and I have to restart my laptop. i'm sure it used to work ok without having to download each register to my laptop first.

Kent / Medway Archives
« on: Tuesday 12 April 22 14:02 BST (UK)  »
Having used Medway archives/ city ark, over the years, I now find it requires me to download each seperate parish record. When I try to open it , the screen freezes and won't move on. Is this something to do with Adobe which seems to have issues I don't understand? Can anyone help please,  I am not tech minded at all.
     Thanks  ama50

Kent / Re: Belvedere marriage Mitchell/Taylor
« on: Sunday 27 October 13 15:18 GMT (UK)  »
Thank you Bearkat. The wrong father for James means I can eliminate him. I was looking for a father named Mattthew occupation gardener/coachman.

I'll have to keep searching!  ama50

Kent / Belvedere marriage Mitchell/Taylor
« on: Sunday 27 October 13 10:08 GMT (UK)  »
Could someone please look up the marriage of James Mitchell and Eliza Phyllis Taylor which took place at All Saints Belvedere 1 Jan 1870
I would like to know the first name and occupation of James's father, also the names of any witnesses.
If they don't match my James, then I can rule this marriage out.

      Thank you    ama50

Kent / Re: Swanley Convalescing Home

Hello,

You might try  Lost hospitals of London  website.  There was a

Whiteoak Hospital for children with eye disease in Swanley.

   Hoping this helps.     ama

Kent Resources / Re: Civilian WW2 casualties in Kent

Hello Denby,

I can't confirm any details for you, but I can remember being told by an elderly life-time resident of Canterbury that an enemy aircraft did , in fact, buzz-bomb a bus in ( she thought) Sturry Road, Canterbury and people were killed.

This would fit with the story you have heard, sadly I can no longer ask the person, but I would love to know what you find out.

           Best wishes    ama50

Kent Completed Lookup Requests / Re: Hainsford or Birchwood
« on: Friday 04 November 11 19:48 GMT (UK)  »
Hello Sally,

This is just a suggestion, but maybe you are actually looking
for Eynsford, (Hainsford?)   and Birchwood is an area near Swanley.

Both places are in NW Kent, not far from Dartford.

If you don't mind posting the names you are looking for,
then someone could help you further.

   Best wishes   ama50

Kent Lookup Requests / Re: William Wanstall 1841 Census
« on: Friday 05 August 11 17:35 BST (UK)  »
Just thinking about the 1841 census, I believe that there are missing

pieces along the North Kent coast, mainly between Whitstable and

Herne Bay. Perhaps a Rootschatter who knows more details could

advise you further. This may be why you can't find your man.

       Hope this helps,   ama
