Thank you for the additional information

Thank you to Gadget, CaroleW and Christine53 for helpful guidance.
There has been some mention in the family of a possible stay in Scotland so will follow this up when information is available.
Regarding Sidney James Kirwan, Adelines father, we believe he had left her mother before they left the Falklands and although we knew about his death in the UK not sure when he arrived here--not too important to our search as we are mainly interested in the daughter.

Again thanks for helpful and speedy responses

Adeline Orita Kirwan was born in The Falkland Islands in 1908.
She traveled to the UK on board the Oronsa with her sister Madeline brother William and their mother
Madeline Agatha Kirwan (née Biggs) and apparently arrived in Liverpool in 1916.
I cannot see them in the 2021 Cemsus. So not sure what happened to them.
Adeline, often known as Orita, married Frank Laurence Voller, a London doctor, in 1932.
I believe she died in London about 1956 but cannot find a record.
Perhaps I am missing some obvious clues but would appreciate help with
1) What happened to her when she arrived in 1916?
2) Where is the record of her death?

Apologies--you are,of course, quite right.
I have now been through the actual papers rather then just read the transcript and this is certainly the relative I was seeking. Many thanks for your help.

Thank you for your reply.
The information you provided show a birth year of 1820 so I suspect this is not the James McGrath I am seeking.

Armed Forces / Help with Military record of James McGrath

James was born in Ireland. His marriage certificate when marrying Ellen Meddick in 1861 shows his age as 21. On his second marriage certificate when marrying Mary Phillips in 1895  his age is 51. So born 1840/44?
A newspaper report of his death in a road accident on 4 February 1931 gave his age as 90. It also mentions he was a colour sergeant and suggests he joined the Kings Royal rifles in 1859.
Family stories suggest he had an interesting military career and apart from knowing he was in Canada in 1872 when a son was born and  was awarded the Canadian Medal and bar I am lacking information.
Any help and/or clues where I can get more information gratefully received .

Family History Beginners Board / Re: Elizabeth Tapper Date of birth
« on: Friday 27 September 13 12:05 BST (UK)  »
I now have the birth certificate for the Elizabeth Tapper born in Shaftesbury in 1850
Her father was Thomas Tapper, a hair dresser, and she was born on 7 September. As I am looking for a father named Elias,a plasterer, and a birth date of 21 October seems I am almost back to the beginning!
If I continue to work on Mary Tapper and Elias Brown being her parents (1841 census ) this suggests I am looking for a birth of Elizabeth Brown who used her mothers name later on. There appear to be just a few births in the range 1849/1850 and none of them seem to be in the right quarter.
If this is not the correct Elizabeth I need to look at Elizabeth Tapper births in the range 1852/54 to tie in with her age on marriage certificates. What can I do to avoid buying a lot of birth certificates to try to find the right one?
As always appreciative of peoples time and effort on my behalf

Trying to tie all the information together I've got this far--
The 1838 marriage between Elias Brown and Mary Tapper seem to be her parents.
The image of the 1841 census (obtained through FamilySearch) show Elias Brown's occupation as "Plasterer" which is the description used for the father on Elizabeth Tapper's first marriage certificate.
The 1841 census also shows children Sarah and Hannah. When we get to 1851 census Mary Brown is shown as married ( rather than widow) with Sarah, Hannah and four other children the youngest most likely being  the Elizabeth I am seeking. There is no mention of Elias and I cannot find a record of him later. I have also struggled to find members of the family in later census's only possibility being Phillis who showed up in the 1861 being in a workhouse.
The birth record of Elizabeth Tapper in the last quarter of 1850 is the correct period of the year and is in Shaftesbury but why was she not registered as Elizabeth Brown? Curious her birth is registered as Tapper but a short while later she is shown as Brown in the census. Elias seems to have disappeared.
Any further help or thoughts appreciated.
