As you are taking about Charles MCCRENOR with his mother Hannah nee QUINN   (Hannah are parent David QUINN and Mary LUNDY)

now Catherine QUINN (married David McNamara senior) has come up.

this was unbelieveable to me too!  David QUINN and Catherine QUINN are brother and sister!  there parents were David QUINN and Margaret MOORE.

Yes I didn't know for sure until I got Brian and his brothers!  Big Thank you to cuz Brian
as I had another clue that could gone opposite way.

Hi Brian,

Here is an Ellen SULLIVAN arriving on the Glenmark which is probably the same record that your cousin found.

https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-267-12143-25171-54?cc=1609792

I can't find any mention of a ship named Matako.

Hi

I have also so found that same record on Glenmark  Ellen SULLIVAN  is about 21 in Oct 1864 as the age is take went ship is leaving.  she was Cork.
So from this she would been about 1843.

When we look at Ellen Mary SULLIVAN (McNamara) death in 1937 she about 90 so born about 1847 and obituary state Waterford.  but of course which one her 8 children wrote this? was it John? or William? (Brian grandfather) or David? (my grandfather) or eldest Bernard or one four girls?
Debra  :)

Thanks Sandra
Wow I still can't believe that I found this family at last!  it been 24 years at look for them and you wouldn't believe 6 days after I found birth of Dorah Hayes who conceitedly born 25 December 1870. and baptism 26 December 1870 (142 years ago today!).  With your and Aghadowey help I would have found them in USA  and finally found out were they move to another was.

I also discovered on following you links to family search.  I manager find another child to Timothy and Mary nee Costello and that was William Hayes born 1 July 1880 in Rockingham, Vermont.   So this give me another lead to work on.  Once get home from Boxing day sales today and may be the bay as annual Carnival start today - (shouldn't say this but just hope it not hot yesterday - as we hardly had much of summer this year as it lucky doesn't rain every second day)

All I say is thank you both again and hope your Xmas day going as plan.  As I going to sales now for boxing day!!

Thank you Sandra as this new information to me as only been working on this family about 3 days. Just found another topic of yours-
Looking for Hayes, Eager and Lafoe of Haverhill, Essex, Massechuetts (U.S.)
I suspect the reason you'd no replies is that the information appears to be all jumbled up with mentions of Hayes then Eager then Hayes, etc.

And another Hayes topic-
Hayes Married ? and lived in Vernal st & Brown st, Massachuetts )U.S.

As you see I have done a lot work over the last couple years to get where I'm now.   As I never knew my Grandmother died 1961  and born in 1970 I have only had basic information work from eg.  Street in Massachuetts  neither my Mother or Aunty knew the town name.   they didn't even have clued how spell the last name Margaret Eager  or remember her first name.   only first name I every hear were Tom, Maurice and Hannah.
Other basic information was on Great Grandmother married certificate that she was born in Ireland and her parent were Maurice Hayes  and Dora Lynch.  and she was in New Zealand 18 months.  and her age which was out to as state she was about 5 year old than she really was.  She was marriage John Lynch born in Ireland and Son of Michael Lynch and Catherine Barrett.  I start with follow them in Ireland.  And slow work to Hayes.

Here are three records that help me work out fact on this family. they all from http://irishgenealogy.ie
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/736b470507067  the marriage of Margaret Hayes to John Eager on 22 January 1869.

This record I only stumped across on Friday as I want to work immigration to USA for Margaret and John Eager as this give that information that still in Ireland in December 1870.  As I trying working out.  But this record change my focus very quickly
http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/fffb080484178  This is Dorah Hayes Baptism where Margaret Hayes and John Eager are name Sponsor.  Her parent were Timothy Hayes and Mary Costellae.  And it quiet timely to find just before Xmas for a bady born on Xmas day nearly 142 year ago.

The third record was one search for immediately after find this was marriage of Timothy Hayes to Mary Costello http://churchrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/details/c941b80592653 This record show that Timothy's father was Maurice.  They were married on 20 January 1870.

With information that his mother nick name was Dora  and that Margaret and John as Sponsor to his first child.   I realist that found more out about the family.  And I see as post these record that Timothy was witness to Margaret wedding.  but when Timothy got married that William was his witness.

I have spent many years working on this part of family with major brick as I was doing from New Zealand and was lead believe like most starting out research there are no Irish record.  and not know name of anyone.  I never dream that I would get this far!    For mehttp://irishgenealogy.ie has been excellent site as my grandmother family have all come the Kilflyn and Tralee areas.  So I manager get back to marriage in 1817 for her father family.  but I still have one major which might take another 24 year to find how related the Lynch part are to each other as both from Kilflyn originally. But that side issue at moment.   I just like find my Hayes family.  As my Mother regular asked if found anything about them.  and it Holiday time so I take some time out my busy schedule to do some for myself not other people this Xmas.  I love tell my Mother (Dorothea known Dorothy(85)) and her sister (Noreen(84)) that I finally found out about there grandmother family as I manager find out all rest there grandparent except for Hanora until now!  this include their mystery man as grandfather they knew nothing about! and eaiser to find of them all!!! (not John Lynch as I had lots information as three geneation travel to New Zealand together)

I never seem to write these right as I try give as much information as I have at time to spark a memory of a name.   As you see I really seem mess it up every time.    But I guess it show how far I have come  as I remember rootsweb with only a few names and possible last name.

I would like thank you for your help as I have already gain some information about this family as I gain more unstanding of my great mother family and were they went to.  Wishing you a Merry Xmas

United States of America / Hayes - Rockingham - Vermont

Hi all

I have been follow my great grandmother family years now.
irishgenealogy.ie has given been lots clues to follow the family.

Maurice Hayes (Hayse) and Deborah (Dora, Nora, Dorothy, Hanorah) Lynch were married in 1847.

Birth record I find some children.  in marriage records other appear.

this just the case  of  Timothy Hayes and Mary Costello who married 1870.  how they were found was thought his sister and her husband been there daughter spousor at baptism on 26th December 1870 to Dorah Hayes born Christmas day 1870. his sister was Magaret Hayes she married John Eager in 1869.   these are last record I can find place them in County Ireland in areas of Bohershe in 1870 and Kilflyn area at same.

Next time these two are found in Massachuttes  USA.  The Eager setted at Haverhill, Essex, Massachuttes and had family after arriving in USA.  now the Hayes are located in 1880 census at Rockingham, Vermont.  now with four children.  Dora born Ireland about 1871,  Morris born Ireland born 1873?  can't find that record!,  John born about 1875 Massachutte and Mary (Minnie) born about 1878 Vermont.  and also part house are Costello's!

Now I find hard to trace these people!    there should be more family as mum always that her mother want to write to uncle Tom.  but her mother had the aunty address only so she wrote to her instead and this was in around 1900 - 1914 as contact was lost during WW1.

I think they we USA between 1870-1875  one document state about 1875 but again that of morris who was born Ireland??

Other family include Hannah who was last arrived and died very young is buried in Haverhill.

There could be Maurice?, William?, Thomas?, John?, Mary? -  and all went USA in first group to story as Hannah stay home to look after dad.  after he died she was sent two ticket one USA which arrived first so she used.  And one to New Zealand arrived after she leave and used by a mrs Middleton!  don't ask how she related as I know she setted in Area of Ashburton, Canterbury, New Zealand.  And went under name Hannah Hayes to travel as it free ticket to New Zealand more likely Christchurch or Timaru, New Zealand.

As the my Great Grandmother leave Ireland as servent and travel with a family to Sydney town, Australia.  then around 1885 she travel cross to New Zealand and married John Lynch.   there is touch weird to this story as she was baptism Hanorah Lynch instead of Hanorah Hayes in 1860.  she would become Mrs Hanorah Lynch - the priest must know something ;)

I would really love solve mystery around my Hayes family.  As said my grandmother Dorothea (Dorothy, Doll)  said writing to Mrs Margaret Eager when she was child.  And photo was taken about 1914?  that was sent over.  there never a reply - of course War got in way and my great grandmother died in 1920 and her sister in 1926.  they both had there daughters writes and my grandmother in 1919.

Can anyone help me to find out more about these families please.

Wish every a Merry Xmas and Happy New Year!!

Is it Cahericiveen  or Cherisiveen?

as these are two different places.  One is on remote area and other township.

As I know I have birth from same family that have three different list of same town!

Just a thought :)

Also who said parent were Daniel and Catherine hasn't got naming pattern right!

First Boy - Father's Father
Second Boy - Mother's Father
Third Boy - Father
First Girl - Mother's Mother
Second Girl - Father's Mother
Third Girl - Mother

so in this case
First boy - Daniel James - Father's Father
Second boy - Michael John - Mother's Father
Third Boy - John - Father

First Girl - Catherine - Mother's Mother
Second Girl - Mary - Father's Mother
Third Girl - Margaret - Mother

So John's parent should be Daniel James and  Mary
So Margaret nee Long parent should be Michael John and Catherine.

But what is with name James?  as they another straight James as well he is fourth son?
