I would have a look at the Kinneff & Catterline one, with him giving his birth as Dunnottar?

Please accept my apologies for not responding to messages, I'm afraid work has taken over. If anyone is waiting for a reply, information or photograph then please let me know by PM. I'm on holiday from work next week, so hopefully I can catch up on your queries. I know some may have been waiting a long long time but if you give me a reminder then I will try my best to get back to you.
Thanks for your patience

Good Morning Ellie,

I'll have to dig out my files and have a look - if i don't get back to you. Don't hesitate to give me a reminder, I'm so busy at work these days there's not enough hours in the day. There is a guy, who took photos of all the stones, but I can't remember his name, there might be a link on here somewhere but I might find it when I start looking.

Patricia,

I've had a look and it seems that it would have been quite easy for it to have been missed. The entries seem to have been made retrospectively, either by going round the parish and doing a sort of birth census or from the Kirk Session records as I was led to believe, if you pm me with your email address I'll send you a typical page for the latter years, so you can see what I mean.

Morning Patricia,

I only have the same BMD records as you get on family search ie a copy of the parish births, but I have the written copy as you get on SP. I don't have a copy of the Kirk Session records, from which the birth records were extracted. I will have a look in case this birth has been missed on these sites - Muirton is on the edge of Benholm parish perhaps they went to a different church St Cyrus would be the next village down the coast or Garvock the next in land.

Hello Wendy,

There are no Cummine or Myles burials in Benholm.
On the kirkyard plan however, there are 2 Cumming burials marked, unfortunately 1 is a 17c flat stone and no inscription remains, the other is a more modern stone and was inscribed/provided by D Lamb , but the inscription no longer remains.
Back Street is in Johnshaven, but burials were still being made in Benholm at the dates you provided.
Perhaps they were buried in Inverbervie?

Jean
