Thanks mirl and rosie. With remaining deaths 1940-50 having dob discrepancies my concern is that his death was not reported by a family member and if the correct cert is found I may not be able to recognize it. Son Edward would have known how old his father was.

Hopefully some local knowledge will help find this death.
Charles was born 28/29 Mar 1867 in Deptford. He lived in Rotherhith in 1871/81. He married Elizabeth Emma Vogt in 1889 Camberwell. The family lived 1891 Bermondsey, 1901 Rotherhith and 1911 Lambeth. In 1939 Charles, Elizabeth and son Edward are in Lambeth. Elizabeth dies 5 Dec 1951 Epsom. She is described as the widow of Christopher Thomas and her death was reported by son Edward.
I have checked all deaths 1940-51 under Charles and Christopher. I also searched probate records. I ordered the 1948 Fulham death cert but it does not appear to be my Charles.
Anyone with a suggestion?

Thanks Christine. I did not have his second marriage which led me to his death in 1951.

Much appreciated

I posted too soon.
I found a marriage record that shows my guy living in Aldershott in 1902 so the 1901 and 1911 census are probably for my Frank Horton.

My apologies

Armed Forces / Frank Horton 1871

I am trying to trace a Frank Horton born 1871 St George Hanover who I think may have been in the military. My guy family has military connections. Father Frederick William Horton(1845-1907) was a bandsman and brothers were also in military.
Possible records which may or may not be my Frank. In 1901 Aldershott a Frank shows single born 1871 Westminster and is a Sergent in 7th Hussars. In  1911 Aldershott a Frank Horton shows married born 1871 London and is a Warrant Officer bandmaster.
Question is there anyway to determine if they are the same person and is there any enlistment info for them?
