Hello Gingervicky
On my mother's side I have 400 plus  1st. to 4th. cousins but only one slight possibility on my Dad's and his side has as many relatives as my mother's and it would be surprising if  no one on his side had  done  DNA. There is a photo of my Dad's grandparents and that grandad looks very like my elder brother but not me. Cheers Humphpaul

Well I seem to be illegitimate as DNA shows all my maternal connections way back but non of my father's family appear to be there. The results show one person with my surname but she comes from another distant connection on my mother's side. Oddly enough  my wife, who knew my father for 14 years, said she was sure he was not my actual father as she could not  see any anything of me in my father. All very intriguing. Humphpaul

Dear Bigdanceman. Great to get this reply after all these years. May I add this info to my Ancestry tree?
With regard to ages; John and Gwen had three daughters all baptised at the same time on 24th. June 1847 in Llanaber. It says Elin is 8 years of age, then Mary 5 and Jane is not an-noted so just a baby.
I think the family were non-conformists until then.
Elin/Eleanor etc. was my great gran. and married William Humphreys (who was from Hendrecoed in Llanaber) in Liverpool in 1861 and the family stayed there and that was my birthplace in 1934. Their first child  was Elizabeth and she married a John Paul who was my grand father. I have attached a photo of  Elizabeth taken about 1920 I think. I would very much like to see a copy of your photo if possible.
I too, had my DNA done a few months ago but have not been able to check out every thing yet. Thanks again for writing, cheers Alan Williams, Humphpaul

Isle of Man / My aunts Maud Paul and Doris Wain(e) confectioners and caterers
« on: Sunday 11 June 17 12:48 BST (UK)  »
I have just had a bit in the IoM FH journal about their activities in Castletown and Port Erin. A lady has phoned me to say her mother was at one time with Maud Paul  so it occurs to me that there may be other  people who did confectionary  training who have  similar memories and maybe old photos.

I started this because last summer I was in the library in  Port Erin and found a booklet put out by the Examiner which had an article written by a 2nd. cousin in 1986  in which were laid out some memories of Doris Wain which had been told to my 2nd. cousin. They were mostly about Maud Pauls business in Port Erin.

All very interesting to me and I hope to others. I would like to hear from anyone who can add to this. Cheers Humphpaul
