hopefully I have managed to post the photograph of my grandfather Herbert Arthur Weston and "unknown"  it hasn't worked the last two attatempts so fingers crossed. I do think they could be brothers?

Good evening everyone,  the photo attached is of my grandfather (on the left) Herbert Arthur Weston, who was killed in france in 1917, he had three brothers, one was killed at the battle of jutland in 1916, and the others I believe were in the army during the first world was, I was informed that one of his brothers Frederick d Weston was also in the same regiment as my grandfather (the royal Warwickshire regiment) what I am trying to find out is who is the other person on the photo with my grandfather? did they tend to have photos taken with siblings together when they joined up? I would just love to be able to identify the other man on the photograph.  Any help would be much appreciated.  Thank you

He was 25, we know from my father that the families were from ireland going back, think this is probably where thomas was from, but he must of been around in preston when hius son was born in 1839?

ello Suz and thanks for your speedy reply to my query, i will tell you all i know.
I am looking to try and find my gt gt grandfatehr which i have been looking into for a long time without success,My gt grandfather was Micheal Rooney born circa 1839 in preston, lancs, i found his baptism in st wilfreds church in preston, father Thomas Rooney (which my late father confirmed was his name) mother Ellen? i have michael on the 1841 census in preston living with a magee family and other irish people, Thomas rooney died in 1840 in the house of recovery in preston cannot find anything about Thomas Rooney, before this date, and help would be great.

Hi everyone,  i would like some help on how i could find where a person was pre 1841? My gt grandfather was born in 1838/9 in preston his father ndied in 1840, trying to find his father before he dsied in 1840? any help much appreciated.

I am hoping someone may be able to help me, my grandfather was a master tailor in preston lancashire this  would of been in the early 1900s his name was john smith, andso was his father! (what a name ), does anyone know if there are anydurectories where i could possibly find him in?
Any help would be much appreciated.
