Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to find out under what Christian name Keren Chambers was baptised at Yoxford in about 1785. Later in life, she is recorded as having the Christian name Kerenhappuch which might have been derived from this name "Keren Hope Chambers Ashford."

I would just like to know what her entry in the baptismal register says and, of course, I don't have access to that record. Thank you for any assistance in this matter.

Thank you for your efforts so far. There's very little information to add and I am aware of the lack of census information. The family seemed to be moving around quite a lot, probably chasing employment.

Yorkshire (North Riding) / DOROTHY NAYLOR of Well and/or Snape

Hi Everyone,

Although I'm heading up to Northallerton next week, it would save me some time if somebody would be kind enough to do a look-up for the possible death of Dorothy Naylor. A child Jane was born in 1828 in the parish of either Well or Snape. After this date, Dorothy disappears from the records I have been able to consult - mainly the census records. I think that she might have passed away some time between 1828 and 1841. It would be much appreciated if someone could have a look for her burial record at Well or Snape or an adjoining parish. Her maiden name was Hewson.  :)

Sorry, BumbleB, I should have looked on Ancestry but I'm not used to finding pre-1838 parish records on the site. I'll put a bit more effort in next time!

Derbyshire / Thomas HANDLEY and his two wives

It would be much appreciated if someone could look up the Brassington or Ashbourne marriage registers for a marriage between Thomas Handley and Rachel XXXXXXXX. This probably occurred in about 1824. Rachel died in about 1844 and Thomas married again to Ann Walton in AMJ 1845 Ashbourne. Exact date would be useful. Many thanks.
(Headstone to Thomas and Ann in Brassington churchyard which I hope to visit before the end of the year.)

I run Worlingworth Local History Group. I may have the same chart which I got from John Ray Wayman of Cavendish, supplemented by info from Ron Goose, now sadly deceased. No-one seems to know who Mary was so they  must have married outside of Suffolk, possibly Norfolk or London.

I've researched the family tree and have the names of all the sisters, some of whom married local farmers sons - the "little aristocracy."
