Hi, my name is Ian and the Coxen's appear in my family tree with Richard Enos Coxen being my g.g.g. grandfather. There is a very good couple of pages on the internet describing the Coxen family and our famous Sir William George Coxen who was Lord Mayor of London 1939-40.

I also have the will of Richard Coxen, Richard Enos Coxen's father and here is the nearly complete transcription.

This is the Last Will and Testament of me Richard Coxon of Twickenham in the County of Middlesex Fisherman being in health of body and of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding. First I direct that my just debts and the funeral and testamentary expenses be paid and satisfied. I give devist and bequeath all my Freehold and Copyhold Messuages or Tenements Land hereditaments and premises situated and being at Brentford in the County of Middlesex and elsewhere and all other my Estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever situate with their and every of their rights members and appurtenants unto Thomas Hales of  Fenchurch Street London Wire drawer his heirs executors admons and assigns to hold the said messuages or tenements land hereditaments and premesis unto the said Thomas Hales his heirs executors admons and assigns according to the respective nature tenure and quality of the same upon trust nevertheless as soon as convenient after my decease to sell and dispose thereof for the most money that can or may be reasonably obtained for the same and either by public auction or private contract at his or their discretion and from and after such sale or sales and after paying and discharging all charges ????? and incumbrances that the said premises may be subject or liable to and all charges and expenses attending such sale or sales or in ?????? relating to the execution of the ??? of this my Will upon trust to pay divide the residue of the monies to arise therefrom unto between and amongst my six children namely Ann Richard Elizabeth John Jane and Isabella and Mary the widow of my late son William in equal shares and proportions as tenants in common and not as joint tenants and for facilitating such sale or sales I declare and direct that the receipt or receipts of the said Thomas Hale his heirs executors admons or assigns shall be a sufficient discharge or sufficient discharges for the purchase money or monies agreed to be paid for the said estates and premises respectively or any part thereof and that the person or persons paying the same shall not be liable to answer for any loss misapplication or application thereof. And lastly I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said Thomas Hales Executor of this my last Will and Testament and to hereby revoke and make void all former and other will and wills by me at any time hereto foremade and do declare this ????? to be and contain my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the nineteenth day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty six ----------Richard Coxen ----Signed sealed published and ordered by the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witness Wm Tadhunter of Bermondsey ------ Abraham Jeffres ------ George Middleton ---------

Proved at London the 21st November 1837 before the worshipful Jesse Adams a Person of Laws and Surrogate by the oath of Thomas Hales the sole Executor to whom Admon. was granted having been first sworn only to administer.
