Thanks Eileen and Debra, i have a copy of the marriage cert from S.P., it states the marriage took place in 1857, at the bottom of the cert it states the marriage was registered in 1860,(why would it take so long to register?) it also states they were married in St Marys not St Mungos. it also gives Johns age as 20 not "of age".

Tyrone / John King of Omagh.

Hi,
my G/G Grandfather John King was married in Glasgow in 1860 aged 20, on his marriage cert his father is listed as Felix King, labourer, his mother is listed as Anne King M.S. Mckay.
John applied for poor relief in 1879 giving his birthplace as Omagh Co Tyrone, but that's as much as i can find for his place of birth, i searched for his father on Griffiths, there are three Felix Kings listed but all three are in Cavan, one in Killishandra and two in Belturbert, there isn't a huge distance between Omagh and Belturbert as the crow flies, i'm just wondering if there's a link? or am i clutching at straws.

Birth cert for Mary Connor gives place of marriage as 1859 Castle Blaney, Co Monaghan,
Castle Blaney is a town close to Cornamucklagh,
I had another look at Patricks birth cert, there is a word before Co Monaghan but i can't quite make it out, i might post it in the Hand Writing board later.

I think we're very close to a conclusion on this search.
        John.
I posted the entry for the place of marriage on Patricks birth cert on the handwriting board,
I think there was a misspelling of Clontibret on the cert, Cornamuckla is a townland in the parish of Clontibret, so Daniel Gallagher and Ellen Conner were near neighbours when they married, maybe not the same townland? but definitely the same parish.

Hi Gavin,
I have no doubt my Grandfather and yours knew each other, they both lived in the same tenement, most probably drank in tbe same pubs, Bridgeton had a large first and second generation Irish community hense the Norman Conks, the largest Protestant gang in that area was the Billy boys which still exists to this day but under a different name (Bridgeton Derry), my grandfather was Catholic but i'm sure there was some as you say "iinter mingling" back then.
  Regards, John,
Have a happy and safe Christmas.

Thanks all,
I thought it might be Clontibret but wanted fresh eyes on it, possibly a misspelling by the registrar? Clontibret would be in the area i'm researching. :)

100% Norman street,
My father was born 52 Norman street in 1921, he doesn't appear there in the Census but is listed as a patient aged 6 months in hospital.
