Hi Bruce ~ Thank you very much for sharing that info - John's daughter Ellinor was my great-grandmother but I had run into a bit of a wall with the Robinsons having only been told:
"John Robinson sailed out of Dublin but was from Belfast. He arrived in NZ either 1856 or 1860 I think.
Settled initially in Okains Bay on Banks Peninsular and ran a shop/post office. The building is still there. He married Selina Moore from another Okains Bay family. They set up shop in Pigeon Bay also and eventually moved to Christchurch where they owned a chandlery store. John also had interests in ships that sailed the NZ coast - mostly around Banks Peninsular I think. Three daughters - Elinore and I'm hazy on the other names. I think Selina died when the children were quite young. "
But that does seem to fit with your post.
