Thanks.  Yes, have been trawling a lot through TROVE and will continue to do so.  It did throw up the only  photo we have of my great-grandfather Heinrich Christian and his wife Johanne Augustine Wilhelmine MAI as well as many other interesting snippets.  Thanks again.

Good morning Cando
As she was born at Port Adelaide I am beginning to doubt she is one of "ours".  I was hoping she might be the daughter of Johannes August Heinrich DIENER (1881-1944) married 1908 to Emilie Caroline BEELITZ.  All my Dieners are descended from Wilhelm Diener born c 1796 in Harz area (Clausthal or Lauenthal) Germany who came to SA in 1847 with sons Heinrich Christian Friederich (known as Christian) and Friederich Augustus Johann.
Many thanks

Thank you Debra and Cando for your quick response.  Now all I have to do is establish if she is one of "my Dieners"!

Hi I am seeking the parentage of Edna Doris "Dolly" Diener born 1914 in South Australia. She married Alick Badman in 1939. She died in 1956 and is buried at Mount Gambier, SA. Thank you

I'd say this is the Wallace from the list you compiled.

WALLACE William John

Father John WALLACE  Mother Mary HALL

Oh, Cando, terribly sorry.      The reference in The Advertiser is W J Wallace, not J W, my mistake, a seniors typing moment!

Australia / WALLACE-HALL marriage
« on: Wednesday 04 January 12 00:43 GMT (UK)  »
Hello,  I'm trying to find details of the marriage (date, place, children) of a John Wallace to my great aunt Mary Hall, of Bugle Ranges, South Australia, who was born in 1844.  I believe it was J W Wallace, quoted in The Advertiser in 1939 as a racing clubs' starter and descendant of John and Mary Hall who arrived from the UK in the Ariadne in 1839.  Any info, or advice on where to look further, greatly appreciated.  Thanks,  Adelaide

That’s fantastic. Thank you.

You have been a great help.

Many thanks for the photo.  Looks wonderful and makes me more determined than ever to get there next year.

Was intrigued by your mention of Hall ancestors in your Bell tree.  If there’s any connection and you’re interested I have a photo of John and Mary Hall.

Keep in touch, and maybe we can meet next year!

Regards

Adelaide
