Australia / Re: Obituary lookup please Victoria
« on: Friday 01 September 23 12:30 BST (UK)  »
Following on from my previous request, we’ve been able to identify the son of Bertha May Beadle.

He was born in 1935 and I can’t locate his death so won’t mention him here. But he married Betty Joan Jessop in 1954 and she is died 24-5-1989 in Clayton Victoria.

We’ve identified that they are the great grandparents of my DNA searcher and we believe we have some minor information on a daughter-in-law who would be the wife of one of their sons and the grandparents we are seeking.

Help.

TIA

There is a memorial for Betty at Springvale. It lists 6 of her children. Find a grave has a picture of the plaque.

Hi ORRLEA,

The year I have is 1909. This is confirmed by VIC BDMs.

Death 1909 #1899 Mary Ann Osbourne @Inglewood, Father George Marchum, mother Ann Bevan.

She was buried in Wesleyan Section grave 712, no headstone.

Sorry for the delay in replying - I didn't receive the notification.

West Glam burial registers are on line but cannot find an entry for the pair.
Across the river from St David's Place is Danygraig cemetery (opened 1856?).

What's the source of the death address - St David's Place? I note in 1871 they are in Water Street, Neath. Always associate St David's with the Catholic church and priory.

This is St David's Place 1877 (2 maps)

Checking the map has brought back memories of the Rutland pub - now long gone!

Thank you for looking.

Henry and Elizabeth both died at the residence of their daughter Elizabeth (Betsy) Parkin. She was the proprietress of The Railway Inn, which she continued to run up until her death in 1901, her husband George predeceasing her in 1880. Betsy is buried in St.Luke's Anglican churchyard, while quite a few of her Parkin children are buried in Danygraig.

Thanks again, Dale

Hi
If you are willing to spend £10 the local Council will look for you.

Thank you, that's probably my best option at this stage.

I have two 4great grandparents who both died at St.David's Place, Swansea in 1872.

Henry WATTS 5 Jun 1872
Elizabeth WATTS 29 Aug 1872

Both are natives of Devon.

I have yet to determine where they were buried.

If I purchased a death certificate would it show place of burial?

Many Thanks

Dale

No one has made the comment that

"William Bowey married Sarah Anne Barnes - the sister of Martha Hannah Bennett nee Barnes and formerly Marshall"

Would explain why he was an executor also.
