The 1911 census will not be online for at least 4-5 months from what I understood listening to the Welsh News

Denbighshire Lookup Requests / Re: evan owen and anne (ginnie) owen llanrwst

Hi Purlin,

Evan Owen, seedsman is on the 1901 census for llanrwst living in bridge Street but his wife's name is Jane. This would explain the Ginnie which is often used for Jane in these parts. i have never heard it use for Anne.

They were both born in Llanrwst. In 1901 he is 48 and she is 40.

Are you sure about Tyn twll Trevor? I ask as there is a Tyn Twll at Trefriw, 3 miles from Llanrwst in an area full of leadmines?

I will go back through the censuses to see what I can find.

Hi Cookie,

I have checked the nonconformist records that I have but have not found him there. The transcribed church records end at 1812, so they do not help.  When you say Llanrwst, do you mean the actual town or one of the several villages which are classed as Llanrwst? What were the names of his parents please as this might make it easier to at least eliminate a Owen Ellis? I'm sorry to be so negative but I will keep looking for you. It would be easier to have just a little more information if you have it.

You have not given a name, which would really help. Is it Ward?

I do know that the local archives does have a burial  index for Llandudno.
Their email address is:  archifau.archives@conwy.gov.uk

All the records for the C and A Hospital are at the Gwynedd Archives in Caernarfon.

I found the info here:
www.institutions.org.uk/hospitals/wales/CAE/caernarfon_anglesey_general_hospital

You could email the archive office at:
archifau.caernarfon@gwynedd.gov.uk

Hi there,
I have 2 suggestions for you which may or may not help but are worth a try!
Go to the Penmaenmawr community website and go into the forum and ask your question. You may find that someone there has access to parish records.

www.penmaenmawr.com

or contact the Register office in Llandudno which covers the area. They are extremely helpful. Here is their page which explains what they can do for you, just click on the contact us to send your request.

Best of luck with your quest.

Just one point without wishing to be pedantic!  Cardiff is not in the county of Caernarfon. Cardiff is in South Wales whereas Caernarfon county is in North Wales
