Thanks for the reply and link. I do think the odds are good that Depnock is the same as Dymock. I'd seen a Lintridge Farm near there as well. The reference you sent is much clearer though and I'm nearly all the way there after seeing it.

The only thing holding me back now is that the one reference I've been able to find for Depnock (in The Post Office Directory for Gloucester... 1863) has lots of references to Dymock as well and that has me confused. If I could find a definite link in the entimology I'd be more comfortable.

Seeking information abouta location named "Depnock"  (possibly Depmock) in Gloucestershire circa late 1500's. I've confirmed that it existed and that a Roman road named "Lintridge" or similar was near it. Purports to be birthplace of William Norris father of Thomas Norris of Barnsley, Gloucestershire in approx. 1570. Any help greatly appreciated.
